Does fit the right back/centre back role . Maybe a straight swap. But very underwhelming on paper. Just a thought however. As usual, Pep knows best and if he wants him, then bring him in. End of. Profile works

Good player. Good advanced data. Should be cheap. If he was in our squad and trying to leave you'd all be moaning about us losing depth. He's an upgrade on Walker as an asset.

‘Very underwhelming’ was mentioned on here many times when we bought Dias.
Similar with Akanji and so on. You’re right, will be gladly proven wrong in due course. But we can aim higher. Pavard is an experienced/senior player for what it’s worth and plays his role very well. So if Pep wants him then it’s all aboard :-)

Makes me wonder. Fits the multiple position role but we have been scouting Mario at Porto. Also with Gvardiol expected to come in Akanji will get most of his minutes on the right side as well.

Bar the occasional thunderbast@rd I’ve never rated him. Would prefer to go for Kounde from perennially broke Barca. Similar profile but a better player for me.
The thunderbastard in question was 5 years ago. Roughly the same time I remember Walker scoring one

why are we buying him? he is not that good and we already have Akanji and Stones. would prefer to keep Walker for two more years anyway

It makes a lot of sense. Totally different player to Walker, but arguably a better fit for the way we play now.

Big concern for me would be the pace we lose from Walker, but maybe Pep thinks having one of Akanji/Ake/Gvardiol is enough.
