Benjamin Pavard

He's lethal on set pieces, add him and Gvardiol there's some serious threat from set pieces. Pavard is a good player, really good technically. He's a better technical player than Kyle, better on the ball which seems to be vital for how our system works under Pep. Only thing is Kyle's speed is going to be a miss.

Others need to get the ball first mate ;-) in fairness, the system has changed already and Pep probably has something different up his sleeve again for the new season with inter managing to snuff out the midfield for most of the champions league final? I like Pavard though , gives me hope as well that every time we apparently get someone not good enough they turn out amazing!

I am happy either way. The guys know what they are doing. If Kyle goes it’s with thanks and great memories. Some were going mad when we signed him if memory serves? No problem with Pavard not seen enough of him to judge , but assume those making the decisions have.

Knew this would end up being the case when I saw the reports earlier.

Maybe City fancy it but, again, I suspect Bayern want to sell us Pavard more than we want to buy him.

I think if it’s the case I genuinely think it’s because Pep and Txiki think Pavard is the best rep for the new or possibly even newer system going forward? Probably an extremely easy and fast deal to do as well if indeed walker wants bayern and Pavard is up for coming here

If we are interested it should be a pretty easy deal to make. They'll want to cash in while they can.

Mate, this was the risk we ran having won the league with two weeks to go before the FA Cup final & three weeks until the Champions League final.

Do we allow our best team to play in between running the risk of injury & fatigue, or do we rest them in preparation for these two matches, risking them going off the boil?

We seemed to opt for the latter & ran the risk of them going off the boil for the two finals. Thankfully it worked out for us, but I honestly believe if we were in the midst of the season, our performance levels in the FA & CL Cup finals would have been very different.

Whilst our form didn't fall off a cliff edge, there was a definite dip which is what I personally feared might happen. Thankfully we saw it through...

I think this is confirmed news now - Pavard in, Walker out. Anyone knows if it was a direct swap or if there was an added cost?

If there is any chance he could replicate the 2018 World Cup volley for us, I’d say let’s give it a go

Confirmed by who?
I’d be very happy if this is not the case. Personally I’d keep Walker and avoid Benjamin Pavard but this news seems to be gaining traction. Even Romano has reported it so there has to be some credibility to it.

It was an honest question mate. Who has confirmed it? I honestly haven't seen anything other than what's posted on here.

Let me guess.

"Man City are looking at the possibility of Benjamin Pavard to replace Kyle Walker if he should leave for Bayern. Bayern could be interested in a deal at the right price. Talks may start as early as next week."

Personally I'd be quite chuffed with this one.

For one reason or another, Pavard has never really been an exciting name, he's not the sort of "fantasy transfer" that people think about and he virtually never makes headlines.

But what he is, is a hard-working, very consistent, and successful player who has won a lot, including a World Cup in which he played a big role. He's also very versatile and could easily play anywhere in the back line in a Pep side. Not to mention he's coming off the back of arguably his best ever season in Munich statistically.

A seasoned, level-headed, World Cup winning defender who can play multiple positions and is entering his prime years? What's not to love?

Just look what he did with Lahm. Will also help Rico's development I imagine too.

He's French, always an issue.

Ain’t happening it’s Bayern who want him out if they get Walker they don’t need him so this comes out in the media to see if there any interest! Pep don’t want fullbacks he wants centre backs who can defend!
