The dark Web is how drugs are bought and sold. Crypto currency etc. Yes the Junkie on the street might have cash but the Colombian dealer is trading online with the Turkish mafia in London.Yeah I suppose, scams and that.
But if you're a drug dealer or importer it'd be hard if there was no cash.
Also dealing in stolen goods etc.
Prostitutes might struggle a bit though.
what I should have added is, all machines should have both options, cash or card.Had that a couple of months ago. Like something from the dark ages at the pay machine
'The Powers That Be' have noted your opinion ;)Its ok people saying “its ok i do nothing wrong so ive nothing to hide or worry about” but do you want the powers that be following your every move

Agree its a nightmare for the elderly, my mam is 94 and anything that needs to be done online has to be done by me or my brother. Doing away with cash or even worse moving to payment by mobile phone app rather than card would be a nightmare.@bluethrunthru you say that but think of it this way. My mam is 88. She can't do online banking. She is just too old. One day you will be 88 and unable to cope with modern life, what will you do ?
It's not a conspiracy theory.
She got an appointment letter for the hospital. Without any explanation on the letter, she was meant to know to scan the QR code onto her mobile phone (that she hasn't got) to get the directions to the ward.
I'm 65 and I was with her and didn't know that either. It's different to what we are discussing but it's the same point. Take cash away and a lot of people are fucked.
Small traders will be forced out of business for one.
It's a good point about pubs. I mentioned the tram ripping me off but at least I got my money back. You can't ring the Dog and Duck 4 days later and say you've been overcharged.
Patrick McGoohan - The Prisoner. As someone once said,
I will not make any deals with you…I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.
It clearly does bother you and to be honest you come across quite bitter and jealous of the tradies and their big cars etcDoesn't bother me tbh.
Why would any fucker want to follow my every move ffs.
They'd soon get bored :)
I've not carried cash for years. No idea why people do. If a shop only deals in cash I'll go to a different one.
I get my cc statement every month, I can see every cent I've spent and where.
It also tells me how many airmiles I've earned.
I pay off the balance before any interest is added.
Why would I ever go back to cash ? Id probably lose it somewhere:)
The small business is hammered by bank charges for contactless payments. There are still things you can buy in shops under a quid. Shops lose money on these sales if cash is not used.
5 years ago i was issued with a £7k tax bill that i knew was wrong. They hounded me, asked me to provide my outgoings and worked a figure they wanted each month to clear the ‘debt’ that would leave me with £0 a month to spend after bills. Yes , zero pounds. Thats how they wanted me to live for 5 yearsPlus, even if you are goody two shoes, when they, the government, tax etc get it wrong you are fucked.
Debra Adeji was declared bankrupt in 2020 by the Inland Revenue. They were wrong. It took 3 years and a court hearing to sort the matter out. HMRC lied to the judge, (he stated the witness was being disingenuous)
She was simply an employee of a company but they decided they were right and she hadn't paid tax.
If you are bankrupt you will struggle for a mortgage, bank account and even a job.
But yeh, let them have access to everything. Let the banks and the government run our lives.
My card reader paypal izettle) costs me 78p for every tenner spent and no monthly costs. Direct into bankI work in the service industry, 80% domestic homes
Id say 75% is BACS and 25% cash
I wont have a card machine as they are too costly
Trouble is, cash is a dirty word and its always the presumption no tax is paid on it. But most of mine is used paying other supplier's etc and i guess it just goes round and round.
I can get any drug i like delivered to my front door via dark websites and pay in bitcoin
Sorry i shouldve also said, i can be at 5/6 jobs a day and to be reliant on a decent signal became problematic for me toMy card reader paypal izettle) costs me 78p for every tenner spent and no monthly costs. Direct into bank
