Cashless society

Say you're right.

What can you do about it? Nothing.

We ain't going back to the Middle Ages, or even 1956. Most people actually like the technology. It makes life easier at a time when most people under retirement age live very, very busy lives.

Democracy is a shite system, precisely because most people - yes, most! - are so easy to manipulate. But we're stuck with it. If people educated themselves - and I mean educated, not reading shite on the internet and swallowing it all down - and ditched their prejudices it would be much harder to manipulate us. Needless to say, this is a vain hope.
All you can do is get wise.

Those who willingly earn from self employment and evade tax weekly will and should be punished.
Why ? Why do people believe taxing people is a good thing ? If every single person and every single company paid their tax do you think tax would go up or down ?
If all of the above happened would more hospitals be built or more given to HS2.

I think most don’t like taxes but them’s the laws it’s shit but it is what it is unfortunately. I pay my tax my mate didn’t and now eating porridge.

But if they wanted to find that information out about you, they wld already know it.

I've got a mate who had to visit Mi5 office because he was doing some building work for them. When he arrived, they already knew that he stopped at the petrol station on the way and how much he had spent.

They can find it all out already so there is no need for the big conspiracy.
I'm not talking conspiracies, I'm talking fuck ups. Giving up individual control.
The banks don't do anything for your benefit. If they are looking to get rid of cash it's for their own greed.

Find it a bit of a pain when a shop/business doesn't accept card payments.
With banks closing regularly and taking the ATMs with them, it can be a right hassle to find somewhere to withdraw cash.
I don't buy into all the conspiracy shit, and find life to be much more straightforward since card/contactless became the norm.

The world evolves as technology advances; cheques are almost a relic of the past now, thankfully.
I know some old people don't like change, but you gotta move with the times.

Interesting thread in many ways but cash isn't going to die out any day soon, most if not all people either bills and large purchases electronically and save cash transactions for the smaller things.

It's not "modern" to wave a bit of plastic at a modem.

The next step is refusing cards because they only accept app payment. Already seeing it in some places. There was a restaurant I went to regularly and always paid by card. Went in one day and he told me he'd got rid of the card reader so it was apps or cash only now.

We are taught to like tax. Bad people don't pay and its why we haven't enough hospitals......Bollocks.
The more you pay the more they waste.
Little people pay tax, rich people don't. The ones in control are the ones who don't pay tax.

Keep seeing leaflets about the dangers of a cashless society. Will it be that bad if we go totally digital?
I’ve only been to a cash point twice this decade and both of those were not even for cash for my own use, they were for putting cash in a birthday card.

If we went cashless tomorrow my life would be no different.
