These 2 must be thinking that if they get centuries then England might only have to bat properly once.

Get to tea 220/1 (or 2) and then fucking go for it with all the wickets in hand, tired bowlers and an old ball.

All series long, England have just needed to put 2 good sessions together back to back, and they’ve never managed it. Every time they get ahead they cock up. If they can win this session they can win the match.
Starting to think this thread actually does impact what then happens.

Tomorrow’s not so bad and Sunday is ok. Saturday will be a washout looking at it.

That should be enough if we can scrape a lead today.
Sunday has a 70% chance of it raining all day according to the bbc weather app. Tomorrow doesn’t look great either, especially in the morning, and as you say Saturday looks the worst of the lot

You have to try and switch off that part of your brain! The idea of playing slightly more sensibly and taking your warnings in order to build a big 1st innings lead and reduce the run chase will sadly not enter their minds. It will be about playing quickly and confidently and seeing where we end up. Parity probably being the aim. What I'd like to see is a bit more balance to get us up to 250-300 and then go for it. See if we can get 80-100 runs ahead which makes the final chase that bit easier, with the weather about and bowling conditions more favourable.

100 run lead was exactly what I was hoping for also , but need to continue at a similar pace we have so far

Well done to Crawley. I've got been his biggest fan, to put it mildly. But getting a ton against the Aussies is not a feat to be taken lightly. We now need him to drop anchor, and play the Boycott/Tavare role, while the other end is bazballing it all over M16.

If anyone was to drop anchor it's more likely to be anyone other than Crawley lol

Yes, true. From what I'm reading (at work, so not watching), it's been a fantastic innings; better than a run a ball. But he's in and set at this stage. And seemingly seeing the ball like it's a beach ball. He needs to frustrate the Aussies now.
