I think the issue is people like yourself and others describing the window as “shite”, “pathetic” etc.

It’s over-reactive and premature, given that there are still six weeks left in the window, and just leads to endless arguments about “flappers”/“happy clappers”, which is pretty tedious to read every day.

It’s fine to voice concerns as long as it’s done sensibly.
Spot on. Every time I log on is just a load of people arguing and insulting each other.

i agree, yeah i know, i’m a fan but still. i think he’s stuck in a really awkward position now, instead of focusing solely on getting ready for the new season, be it in germany or england.
if the transfer fails he’ll be the laughing stock of the football world.

another if it fails thing: which club would win the pr war, cause ending up with the image of being the club that ruined a young player’s dreams would be a bad thing for leipzig when it comes to signing new talents.
City, as proven over the last decade, don’t give two hoots about any PR war mate.
We just crack on with winning.

There's a stark difference between negotiating and taking advantage of a media circus to have a go and play big bollocks
There is also a stark difference between the media circus and how the clubs are actually negotiating and going about the deal. It’s obvious certain journos wanted to jump the gun instead of wait for concrete news.

You are confusing labeling the club/personnel "pathetic" with labeling the window *so far* as terrible. These are not the same thing. One is entitled and opinionated and wrong, the other one is just the truth. The window could be terrible even though everyone has done all they could! Ultimately football transfers are fickly.

Agreed. The other clubs buying aren't buying better than anything we've currently got.

Our transfer window is going to be much harder because we are only in the market for the players "we need" rather than stockpiling.

What are the loads of things up in the air? This will get done, Walker and Bernie will stay. We may buy somebody who’s not been on BMs radar before the window closes as a little brucie bonus to keep the flappers happy as well.
Trust the process. The club have earned that at least.
I really don't understand why trusting the process and us missing out on big transfers are seen as the same thing.

Everybody here believes Pep is the greatest manager of all time and regardless of the boards continual transfer problems he can see us through.

Take last summer, we trigger Haalands release clause (thankfully we didn't need to negotiate a fee) but are unable to secure a quality left back featuring a long saga for Cucurella. Thankfully Pep is a genius and the 4 centre back formation wins us the treble.

The summer before that we trigger Grealishs release clause (thankfully we didn't need to negotiate a fee) but we fail to sign a striker featuring a long saga for Kane. Thankfully Pep is a genius and the false 9 formation wins us the league.

We all know Pep will work something out but acting like missing out on our main targets every summer that involve us negotiating with a club isn't a common occurrence is disingenuous.

Well said.

I agree mate! But the Sporting director getting in on the acting and giving it large is small time
Mate ultimately his own words at the end were, pay what we want and you have a deal, like for any player on the market. He can give it the big un to German media but ultimately Txiki and co aren’t amateurs, they won’t pay mind to that noise. The only thing certain is there’s a price and we have interest, it’s entirely up to us whether we pay that money or walk away, and that’s that. I just hope, for our sake, this deal doesn’t shift our focus from other targets re; Mahrez replacement.

None of knew that the links for Cucurella (especially at the price he went for) were geniune.

We have a business model that rightly or wrongly is one we stick by. Based on evidence it clearly works and if it means we’ve missed out on potential signings then so be it.

Don’t worry mate, I’m not having a go at txiki or city or anything, I just hate the media circus that surrounds almost every transfer now, and I hate it when club executives get involved with it! What will be will be regulars less of what any of us say here and I trust the club

Like I've said in the above, the evidence is that Pep is brilliant. Nobody can argue that.

Agreed, it is annoying. Especially when he himself priced the player publicly last time around.
