Joao Cancelo | Al Hilal Player

I wonder if what Pep said about last season, that he would have shipped Cancelo to anywhere including United, still stands. Because I’m certain there are PL clubs interested. But maybe he sees what happened in the past as part of the past. I feel a little naughty wishing he stays, but he does have the talent for a redemption and to be one of our best players next season

Is Guardiola a forgiving type? He seems pretty principled to me. How far he bends towards pragmatism is a question I suppose.

Nobody knows. There are one or two rumours, and folk embellishing them, some guessing, and then some outright making shit up. Ranges from just moaning about not starting, to slapping Pep's bald head and groping Phil's mum.

Whatever it was, it was enough for Pep to ship him out in the middle of the season without a senior conventional LB in the squad. So I doubt he will be here this season, however long it takes to find him a move.

Shame really as on his day he is a class player, however attitude clearly stinks so out he needs to go.

The whole situation is pretty strange. We were willing to make him one of our very top earners on a long contract only last year, so it must have been a pretty spectacular fall out with Guardiola to be in the position we’re in now. That said, I didn’t think he’d even be allowed on the pre-season tour so maybe there’s been a thawing in the relationship. Unless it was purely to put him in the shop window?

It’s one heck of a downfall that’s for sure. People know what Cancelo can do so I imagine it’s one towards the end of next month we will get a few rather poor loan offers then take one and cut out losses.

The side has evolved now and I struggle to see where cancelo would fit in.
 
Barcelona should be interested in Rico Lewis, he is more reliable than Cancelo.

Cancelo is not consistent, bad defender & will bother them with #mommyblessme
