He's a decent youngster. But when was the last time they actually developed a player? It's almost like because they spend so much money on these talented youngsters, they expect them to perform like the finished product and put fuck all effort into improving them. Look at the likes of Wan-Bissaka, Sancho, Martial, Van de Beek, all bought as youngsters and which of them is better than when they first arrived? Meanwhile, we've got a manager that doesn't just improve youngsters, he improves established names.
That list you mention underlines that they sign these wonderkids every few years and they always fall way short, and I expect much of the same with this one. I don’t agree Pep improves youngsters though, for me the only black mark against him is the fact Foden is nowhere near as good as he should be or his early potential suggested. Buying Phillips instead of developing Lavia is another sore one for me
