They are Tier 1 for Brazilian Players, translation here:

Manchester City have made a £70m (R$437m) bid to West Ham to sign Brazilian midfielder Lucas Paquetá. The London club have yet to respond to the offer but are expected to turn it down and ask for a higher figure.

The information was published by TuttoMercato and confirmed by ge. Paquetá, 25, was signed by West Ham in August last year for 51 million pounds. With the departure of Declan Rice, the Brazilian is one of the main players in the squad. The Hammers hope to earn more from a possible sale of the former Flamengo man.

Paquetá scored five goals and seven assists in 41 appearances for West Ham in his first year at the club and was one of the standout performers in their Conference League title campaign, their first trophy in almost 40 years. This season, he has taken over the No10 shirt following the departure of Lanzini, who left for River Plate.

Guardiola's interest in Paquetá is nothing new. The ex-Milan and Flamengo has been an option at Manchester City since last year, when the Brazilian was at Lyon. At the time, an onslaught was conditional on a Bernardo Silva exit, which did not occur.

This year, the proposal was made effective, even without the certainty that the Portuguese attacking midfielder will be traded. The reigning Champions League winners have made only two signings this season: midfielder Kovacic, formerly of Chelsea, and defender Gvardiol, from RB Leipzig.

Paquetá is beloved by West Ham fans and is unlikely to press for a possible exit. He hopes the deal will also be advantageous to the London side. The Hammers make their Premier League debut this Saturday, away to Bournemouth.

Could be similar to the Kovacic signing albeit at a steeper price. As it has been discussed in the transfer forum a swap between Phillips and Paqueta is possible if West Ham are asking for more money.

I don’t think he is a bad player and I would actually like him on the team but £70m is definitely steep.

Not my money though so if he improves us that is the only important thing, he is very versatile so that could be a plus. Still want a winger at least though.

I wonder if the club are still looking at Phillips to go to west ham and maybe Palmer to Brighton which would maybe see Mitoma here?

steep ? it's fucking vertical !!

Surprised to see West Ham paid €44m for him only a year ago. I couldn’t tell you what kind of year he had, which is pretty telling. Let’s see. If the links are true then in Pep we trust…

I'm surprised at how many are seemingly against it.

70M is a lot but he's only about to turn 26 this month and has got a great work rate to go along with his attacking output. My only worry is that would all but signal that Pep doesn't see Phil as a central player but as a winger.

He started the season extremely slowly but in the second half of the season he was far and away their best player.

If I remember correctly, we were linked with last summer a few times so if the links are true we are trusting our scouting department here and following up on a recommendation now he is premier league proven.

I think if we go with Paqueta that's the idea of a wiger possibly out of the window..can't see us signing an attacking midfielder and a winger.
