Lucas Paqueta investigated by FA for alleged betting breaches

Wow, 70+ Mill for him and people were complaining about Kovacic for 30

If he is for the centre and Phil pushed out onto the wing then Phil has every right to be properly pissed off

I think we beat the Saudi rush luckily as we had him signed up before that kicked off otherwise it would have been at least double what we paid

Could he be the mahrez replacement? Fits the mold of hard working ball ball retention. Makes sense we’d be after him as a winger/midfielder Ala Bernardo

Fab tapping in as well now. Maybe does have legs

Greailsh / silva / KDB / Foden
Mitoma / Paqueta / Foden / palmer

Ta. dreaming.

I do remember loose links from France while he was still at Lyon with him apparently touted as “the one” to replace Bernardo if he ever was to leave. I do think he’d hit a different level under Pep so I wouldn’t be against this move.

Kovacic was one off..one of those signings that happens maybe once or twice every now and again.

If Chelsea had him tied down properly and was more of a fully functioning club he would have cost us £50m-£60m.

Paqueta is a fully fledged Brazilian international and a starter if I am not mistaken.

Not going to get him for anything less than £60m.

Whether he is right for us is up to the club to decide but we are not getting a Brazil international for less than £60m.
Hopefully we see sense and do the same as the rice deal and walk away

Surprised to see West Ham paid €44m for him only a year ago. I couldn’t tell you what kind of year he had, which is pretty telling. Let’s see. If the links are true then in Pep we trust…
Slow start, took time to adjust, spent time on the bench. By the end he was winning many plaudits.

I remember at the time, I never quite understood why, but his side was clearly able to force a sale, for quite a low fee, to a bigger league.

He's a yes for me, but I'm very sensitive to us lacking passers, numbers in midfield, and creativity.

I have no problem at all with Bernie/Phil at RW. Sure, another winger with some pace would be good, but I'd hate to think we spent most of the season with a 'hopeful' at RW, because those two were needed for the midfield. Surely it's clear, both can be exceptional for us in a way we would not expect from the targets mooted recently.

Having said that, these sources aren't terribly convincing.

Paqueta and Moyes was never going to work…
