Lucas Paqueta investigated by FA for alleged betting breaches

Most Brazilian players are temperamental. And like to play all the time. Will he see his arse sitting on the bench and being a part of a squad team?

Bowen prob about £70m in todays market
Moyesie certainly can’t blame his tool
 
I don't tend to get too fussed one way or the other on transfers now, our guys have earned a fair bit of trust to get things right.

But if I had to say, I think we're going to get fleeced on this one and I'd be happy if we ended up walking away.

It`s surprising that we think KDB/Bernardo/Kova/Foden/Alvarez/McAtee/Grealish/Perrone/Palmer/Bobb/Gomez/Lewis aren`t good enough in terms of numbers/quality to fill up 2 positions. Anything about this bid makes me dissapointed. Txiki saving £7-10m in long negotiations with RBL only to massively overspend on Paqueta? The talents from the youth academy (the best in the uk over 3/4 years) are neglected again. It seems even Foden will struggle for game time. Do we spent more than £70m for a bench/rotational player? i doubt it.

Paqueta (already 25) is talented but failed at Milan, small renaissance in a weak french league & had more than an average season at WH. The x-caps for the national team have less meaning cuz the talent isn`t there anymore & he is not the guy who leads their country to past glory. £50m last year was worth a punt but not this year (after winning everything) for +£70m. Let`s trust our youth or perhaps invest the money in a pacey winger (profile of a player we only have with Foden,(Gomez) cuz we already sold Borges,Mebude).

Agreed. He's obviously got skill and talent, but has he shown the level of end product that suggests he's a 100 million player? 4 goals and 3 assists, four MOTM performances. I'd be amazed if a club that spent ages negotiating to get a good price on Gvardiol hands over more 100 million for Paqueta.

Moyes has got his creator in JWP, doubt he cares for Paqueta because he can get an additional + cheaper 10 from the market and bolster his squad. Maybe even another forward

All stats and co cannot be judged properly... there are no impressive stats from players in a Moyes West Ham.
 
100m for Paquetà is ridiculous. For 40-50m you can buy Kephrem Thuram: cheaper and better.

Fee was always going to be lofty anyway but this Caicedo business will have inflated it even further unfortunately.

I’d hazard a guess that Paqueta’s willingness to move will make them come lower than we’ll go up to.
