The fact that mid-table clubs can charge an absolute fortune for their players is one of the best developments in English football. Gone are the days that the likes of the rags could just cherry-pick the best players by being so much richer. Now if you want them, you've got to pay up. It's a much better league when teams can keep their players for longer (or get a fortune for them). Pay up or fuck off. If we don't like it, we can always look abroad.

West Ham fans are friendly.
They are just like us, they support their local club.

We can’t do anything about them. That’s the kind of support success brings.
But I still believe the vast majority of our loyal hardcore support that has followed the club from MR to the Etihad still hasn’t changed as a whole.
They appreciate the last 15 years of success, but will never forget City going 34 years without winning a trophy, and frankly being shit.

I don't like talk about 'gateway' clubs, etc. But Sullivan is only doing what Levy did with Kane two years ago - valuing a player under contract very highly. There was a huge sense of entitlement about us signing Kane. But it's easier to lambast Spurs than West Ham, seemingly.
