Aymeric Laporte

Low fee no doubt but on our books he probably has nil balance now so £27m will be all profit? Also getting his wages off the books as well and it opens up a squad place in an area we are beyond stacked?

Here where, have we accepted 30m from west ham? No. He is an elite player, he will get an elite wage, and we'll get a fair fee

In some reports, less than £30m....

If he was as good as some fans think, he'd have attracted bids well in excess of £30m from top level clubs.

He's good, but he's not good enough for City or for any top level clubs to make a bid any more. Simple as that.

Baffling that no team in world football is jumping at the chance to get Laporte. Also the £27m annoys the living feck out the me considering Fabiniho went for £40m and was poor last season while Aymeric is a multi winning CB.

Was always the '2nd' centre half in my opinion, regardless of who he played alongside.

I rated him, but I think he was one of those that needed his hand holding by the person alongside him.

Just looking at his current wages on the payroll site £120k/wk so that will free up a bit, Cancelo on £250k/wk and Philips on £150k/wk! No wonder we can't move Philips on!

Wouldn't say we're 'beyond stacked' myself, traditionally we have wanted 2 players for each position and we don't have that. Although some nice flexibility with certain players.

No way the fee would be under 30m when you take into account the shit players the Saudi league have signed for much more.
It's looking like it is. Regardless of what we say on here, the valuation comes down to what we will accept and what someone will offer.

I wouldn't get hung up on the fee. Fabinho was still a first team player and I don't think Liverpool were actively looking for a buyer. Laporte is now third choice left centre back and it's obvious we've been trying to find him a move all summer.

The fee we receive is the price we pay for not selling him to a league rival and not pricing out of a move elsewhere. I can live with that.

It also shows other players present and future that we do not stand in the way of transfers should players wish to move on.

We get a fair price and the player wants to move it goes through without issue.

Good Luck in Saudi Aymeric.

At least playing significant number of games albeit at a lower level.

City not going to sell him to Top 6 PL, as City know how good he is.

Below Top 6 they don't have monies to pay acceptable transfer fee

and his wages. Little monies in Europe too. So off to Saudi, City get

reasonable fee to offset some of Gvardiol fee, but a younger option.

So keep fit, will have number of Top Strikers still to deal with as Saudi

buying up more and more, and Spain still see him as Top C/B playing

lots of games. Win Win situation for all parties in most respects and

every transfer has compromises, living in Manchester one of them....

Is this supposed to be a poem

Everything about the club post takeover has been about the long term and this is another example of that.
