Fabulous player but just think it’s come to a natural end. Pep loves defenders now who excel at defending but can pass on top of it (aside from Stones who he just loves anyway but is immense all-round) and I think Laporte is passing first then defending after.
Too many high profile errors IMO. He had his run of games in 21/22 after the Dias-Stones partnership the season before and didn’t take his chance. Since then it feels like he’s been on the peripheral and he’s too good for that. Loved watching him when he first came, genuine Rolls Royce of a player.
One thing that’s good, though, is that he’s not seen his arse (overtly) like a certain Portuguese fullback did which is always a plus. He’s been positive in posts online and actively supporting the team and his teammates. As he should.
