New low from The Athletic.
Oil Classico. Really.
Fuck him, the odious wankerNewcastle will win the league Stuart Pearce saying, gave me a chuckle
Great player , crap manager even worse pundit , he lacks the intelligence to make objective predictions.Newcastle will win the league Stuart Pearce saying, gave me a chuckle
Any links to the presser, can never seem to find them?Pep's news conference yesterday was box office gold, up there with his rant after the PL charges were made.
We are incredibly fortunate to have this man at our club.
Enjoy...Any links to the presser, can never seem to find them?
I find the "co-owner Amanda Staveley" headline odd given her company only owns 7.6% and has no control whatsoever.Bizarre article in the Mail by Ladyman headlined;
How Newcastle United - led by co-owner Amanda Staveley - have learnt lessons from Manchester City's scattergun approach in 2008 to find Premier League success
Bear in mind we won the league just 3 seasons later, but that isn't mentioned at all in the article. Instead the focus shifts to the Champions League;
"Still it took them three years to qualify for the Champions League and another two to progress beyond the group stages"
And this "scattergun" spending ?
"City made their fair share of early missteps - Robinho, Wayne Bridge and Roque Santa Cruz were three"
Just to remind new fans, Wayne Bridge cost £12m and Santa Cruz barely played through injury. Robinho was a world star name who arguably put City on the international map.
I often wonder if these "journalists" actually get back-handers from the clubs they write about. I hope so because, if they don't, they really don't know football.
All the "previews" as they label them will be on here, I presume there's an embargoed 2nd one to come.Any links to the presser, can never seem to find them?
I find the BBC's selection of which City article is open for comments very peculiar.Pep giving it to the fucking hypocrites, love it

Manchester City: Pep Guardiola says his side would be 'dead' if they spent like Chelsea
Manchester City would be "under scrutiny like you cannot imagine" if they were spending like Chelsea, says boss Pep Guardiola.www.bbc.co.uk
They really are the worst when it comes to any City bashing.I find the BBC's selection of which City article is open for comments very peculiar.
Not really.

Well they’ll need to win an FA Cup & league within 2 years to show our scattergun approach up.
The approach was hardly scattergun, maybe the thing that didn’t propel City forward quicker was holding on to Mark Hughes too long. The job was too big for him and he was not getting anything out of some very talented players he had at his disposal. The uptick in form when Mancini came in was apparent with the late but unsuccessful push for champions league football at the end of the 09-10 season. Finished 3rd and an Fa cup after that then 2012 happened.
Quite a fair and faithful report on Pep’s presser from the BBC. No journo credited (probably career-limiting) not the kind of stuff you’d see from Roan and Slimy Stone was probably otherwise occupied halfway up Ten Hag‘s ringpiece at the time. Of course no comments allowed on this one.Pep giving it to the fucking hypocrites, love it
