In 62 matches (19/20, 20/21), Jack had 30 G+A for Aston Villa. In 75 matches, Doku had 17 G+A for Rennes. Rennes is also higher up the table than Aston Villa and in the French league, so his end product is concerning. Everything else is great though, so hopefully Pep can iron it out.

You do know that a player can only get an assist if another player does their bit and puts the ball in the net?

Chance creation is a much better stat.

Even the best can struggle take sats game, haaland sorts his feet out and foden comes away with 3 assists

It's as clear as day we need a winger who is fast and can beat a full back one on one.

Take last night for example...Haaland is our major threat, so Navas tucked right in close to the centre back to help nullify any through balls down the sides or between the centre backs (which he cut out on at least one occasion I can remember).

The reason he could afford to do that is because although it left Jack wide open spaces for the switch of play and he was able to get the ball to his feet a lot, Navas always had time/speed to get back out to him knowing he wouldn't be beaten for pace or taken on.

If we have someone who is a threat and proper rapid on the wing (not necessarily saying it has to be the left, was just using last night as an obvious example), then the full back won't be able to risk tucking in and leaving so much space, as they would have to engage much earlier.

Thus in turn, leaving more space for Haaland...

So us having that extra dimension will for sure cause other teams additional headaches on how to negate our attacking threat, which without KdB, is very one dimensional and quite easy to defend against at times.
I agree we need to release some space for Haaland to use. He is double or triple marked so there must be space elsewhere but the slow build up compacts the pitch .

Agreed. You don't keep a complicated fellow like Pep at your club, and happily, for as long as we have without bending over backwards to get him what he wants. That will include in the market more than anything.
Pep is similar to Dr Frankenstein, Txiki is the Count working with him to get the proper parts for his creation. Pep assembles based on his vision, which, I'm reasonably sure, is focused with an interaction with and appreciation for Txiki's opinion.

Jeremy Doku for Rennes 2022/23:
Games: 29
Goals: 6
Assists: 2
Shots: 26
Chances created: 30

That's about 1 per match. In comparison, Jack had 2,2. Anyway, I hope his end product improves. He is only 21, so hopefully, he can become better than Jack. If he does, he will be one of the best players in Europe in his position.

What were Grealish’s stats aged 21 and younger?

Pace is a major, major attribute. Especially when it’s combined with skill and the ability to get past players. Not something to be sniffed at as ‘just quicker’ IMO
....did Usan Bolt ever get that contract in the pub league 'down under' .....thought not, pace is useless without an end product.....we will see, hopefully he develops into a world beater ;)
