On 7 April 1992 Manchester City were awarded a penalty at Old Trafford, which Keith Curle converted to earn a 1-1 draw.

Many blues will already know the number of penalties awarded to City since then at the swamp: none. Nix, nada, niente.

Absolutely astounding that we could go so long without being awarded a penalty there. Since then, we have had 8 general elections, 7 prime ministers, America has had 5 different presidents, and City have won 15 major trophies.

Unless you are pushing 40 you have no memory of a City penalty at the swamp.

A record like that speaks for itself, yet we all know what the media will make of that simple statistic.

Absolutely fuck all.

In the Stretford end seats that night, didn't jump up at first until 15 or 20 other blue did near me , so thought fuck it!! Iwas a lot younger then !

December 1993 to April 2004, they didn't concede a single penalty at Old Trafford. And it's not a huge surprise when you consider that they only gave away 3. It's not just us that suffered from the most blatant long-term display of refereeing bias in football. I remember watching an old series of They Think It's All Over and every other joke was about how impossible it was to get a decision at Old Trafford.

What makes it more astonishing is the football we are playing now and over the last ten years especially, the odds percentages of our team being in attacking positions to see the law of averages of getting a pen must be far higher now, something doesn’t add up ..

they would have to get near us first, tackling shadows will never get you a penalty :)
