Absolutely nobody would have given a fuck about that goal before VAR. Akanji gets himself out of the way.

There's no way Akanji being there didn't affect the keeper's decision making. He stuttered his dive because of him.

Still, I'll take it.
Yeah I agree, will happily take the goal but would be fuming if that goal was given against us.

THat's offside. Akanji tried to hit it. Anyway, get in!!
IMO and I tend to wear the least blue tinted specs here... I thought Akanji tried to avoid contact as he knew he was well offside. The view from behind goal shows he was nowhere near Lenos eyeline. I feel more we got lucky inasmuch as we actually got the call

Surely if they were against us they'd been canceling them off? They've had a great opportunity there to deny us a goal that's put us into the lead.

It's spoiling the fucking game if you actually go to it you can't celebrate anything anymore

Surprised that wasn't disallowed. Slight pause by the goalie
Keeper shouldn’t have stalled as the player was miles offside. He didn’t touch the ball or alter its trajectory.

Remember the derby decision last year or the year before when there was the most ridiculous offside ever, this isn’t even comparable and I don’t remember seeing the pouring outcry from the pundits when that was given

We didn't really look at it first half, too many mis-placed passes.
Even though Alvarez scored, i would take him off, bring on Bernardo and move Foden inside.

I can see Nunes replacing Kovacic at some stage too.

To be honest I don't think that should have stood like the rashford situation last season

Akanjis presence clearly affected the keepers attempt to dive

I'm OK admitting that, we're not shithouse rag fans
