General Videogame Thread

Give to followers, put in ship cargo hold, or just drop it on the floor of the ship itself, some gear gives 25% reduction in weight of thing, but ye it’s a pain constantly transferring stuff but that’s a Bethesda game for you. I was upto 3am playing today just one more mission ha ha next minute it’s 3am! Getting to grips with things now at level 12, it’s bloody massive game, I’m just doing quests not even exploring, I found like No Mans Sky you can just go round exploring and nit really accomplish anything so I follow the missions.
Im going to build a base tonight and see how that goes, need to watch a few YouTube videos first as the game doesn’t really help.

Years gone by that be me playing all hours now 3 hours a day is tops! It's slow going and it doesn't bother me how long it will take to finish the game, I buy a game now knowing it will take me 6 months+ to finish because there are usually the only sorts of games I play.. Elden Ring was the last game I put 100 of hours into..

Yes, you need to invest skill points in weightlifting/fitness (I think). There are also ‘aids’ that allow you to temporarily carry more, also some outfits do as well.

it’s something I’ve struggled with but now I no longer pick up all the items that dead people drop. At one point I had all of my companion’s inventories full of my shit, as well as the ship cargo hold, and captains safe…..just sell it all to TA

Yeah early game play I pick up everything because you don't what you need or what's good or not, especially when you can craft.

I’ve done Mantis, which was good…..may look into Unknown today….

I can recommend Neon as a good place for quest lines, done a few here and they’ve all been really enjoyable. Particularly Ryujin…..
I fell into the Ryujin rabbit hole and have been doing that, not even started the main storyline yet. Before Ryujin I was sent collecting for the bank until they ran out of stuff for me.

Absolutely loved that game. My favourite since Botw. Its fucking infuriatingly hard. I'd suggest, if you get stuck, using whatever glitches are still out there to get runes, at least at the beginning.

My gaming son is coming down to mine tomorrow to run me through it, the game looks lovely and worth the effort.

Added bonus is my son hasn't played this game before because it's not really his type of game but he's willing to give me a few tips :)

Oh that's absolutely nothing mate when it 1st came out I couldn't kill a boss towards the end called Malenia honestly took me about a week.
In the end I summoned 2 other guys to help me beat Malenia. No way I was doing it by myself...not quite as annoying as our UCL final against Chelsea but it was up there!

Downloaded Elden Ring.

Got mullered by a massive horseman in a field of Goats.

Will have to try much harder.
Probably my favourite game of all time, jealous that you are just starting out on it

i would leave the tree sentinel until you’ve levelled up a bit

i recommend getting to about level 30 before moving beyond the starting areas, there’s loads of dungeons and caves to explore before you move on to the first main boss

Starfield is now frustrating me I found the mantis base and ship but can’t find the suit I follow the marker and it takes me back to ship.
You have to fight through the baddies then you can claim the new ship, if you turn round then get in the lift go down to the basement to the suit, a tip before opening it up so a quick save that way if you don’t like the roll on your new gear you can reload and retry. Don’t forget to make the new ship your base ship as well.

I've been looking at the reactions to Starfield because it's arguably the one game that caught my eye from all the next gen stuff, as an observer. Seems like a marmite kind of game so far, in that you either love it or you hate it... Hilariously, both sides seem to be prefacing their opinions with the suggestion that the other side must be bullshitting, or be a shill or a fanboy applying copium of some sort.

I'm disappointed that you don't have the option to take off and travel manually as an explorer. I doubt there will be a way to add this feature in either. That said, if people are saying it will take longer to finish than Skyrim and the likes did, with the fast travel at the core, I doubt most would travel the manual way for long. It still would have been nice to have the option.

The one criticism I've noticed that is consistent, is there is no wow moment at the start, which might be a mistake, since a lot look for that moment at the start of a highly anticipated game. It has even been said that the start of the game is kind of bland looking and uninteresting, leading to snap judgements that the whole game must be boring. From what I gather, the slow start does make sense later in the game, which makes up for it for some. 12+ hours later might be too long for some people, who play an hour or so a night and some don't play games every day either.

I still want to play it eventually(along with Cyberpunk) by then all the technical issues an bugs should be ironed out too. It's nice to see plenty are having a blast with the game already, despite it not being perfect.

Starting Baldur's gate 3, never played dnd, and have found rpg games infuriatingly complicated to pick up and understand, partner is a regular at both and is talking me through

At this moment I feel like kalvin Phillips trying to understand what's going on

Tbh I've not played it, just that pic made me chuckle a little. My friends who are into those games swear by it and went back to it after a try of starfield, not sure what that says about either as RPG's have never been my thing so can't comment.

Does Skyrim ever finish my brother has played that game for over 10 years, doing different builds etc, he’s always on it. The flying thing on planet would be great just so you don’t have to run everywhere.
