General Videogame Thread

Haha fuck me. This game sounds epic.
That's what I love about this series. You never play the same game twice and even though a had a solid plan for my Kingdom just one bit of randomness can completely fuck you.

Want to play as a little duchy just trying to survive for 400 years? Do it

Want to play as Harold to defeat William the conqueror and change history? Do it

Want to play as the Byzantine Empire and conquer Europe Africa and Asia? Do it

The freedom is unmatched and once you get though the steep learning curve I can guarantee you'll be up at 2.30 in the morning trying to work out if I marry my half sister to gain gold will my father declare war on me?

Ok I completed CK3 tutorial and still haven’t the faintest fucking idea what I’m doing, but I like it.

I’m thinking of starting the main campaign in the 9th century though thinking that starting as early as possible is worth doing.

Told you the learning curve is steep! Just try to stick with it.

Couple more tips.

Bottom right hand corner of the screen next to the settings button there is a button which takes you to the full game encyclopedia which is really useful. It explains a lot of things.

At the start of a new game top right hand corner of the screen an icon will appear, it looks a stained glass window and it will have number in it. Click on it and that will give you a list of tasks the game recommends it thinks you should do. Very useful and if you click on the task it will take you to the encyclopedia showing you have to do it and the advantages and disadvantages of you doing that task.

Beginners guides on YouTube I would recommend these

Party Elite YouTube has a full series beginners guide and is fantastic at explaining how this works.

I've got a completely free day tomorrow so I'll be on playing it pretty much all day. Let me know if you need help

Yeah I’m going to watch these and start again. Everything just kicked off and went mental when I tried it. Seemed like everyone was attacking me and I didn’t know whose armies were who and why I was the brunt of their attacks.

With armies if you click on the number under them that'll tell you who they are

Okay I’m up for getting into a new strategy game. I used to love Sid Mieir’s civilisation back in the day. How does it compare?
