How many points will be needed to win the league?

Spurs have no European football and they're already out the league Cup. They'll probably have 20 less games than us this season. If they're anywhere near on January 1st they should go out and sign a world class striker and they'll be our biggest challengers.

They haven't got the quality, depth of squad, or a star striker to sustain a title challenge. They won't be far off, but they will eventually fall away, after a good start.

This may sound very cocky but I see no reason why we can't do a century again. We've barely hit 2nd gear and have had some injury issues pop up yet have been winning fairly easily. The rest of the clubs seem to have some weaknesses.

I thought we would dip.
After Istanbul I was messed up and I’m still up there and I thought the lads would be also.
Gundo and Mahrez shipping out and the Prince being injured I was thinking dip.
No dip it seems.
They keep doing it for us.
How long can this go on?

If Spurs are going to be our biggest problem, they might as well hand it to us now.

This is our joint best start to a season. It’s the joint best start to a PL season.

Nobody has ever won their first six games of the season in the PL era.

Only 5.Liverpool, 9.Chelsea and 12.Chelsea won the league from those starts^
Thanks for the info
Hopefully we smash another record that the Red tops have achieved. IT'S GREAT BEING A BLUE

We're going 38 out of 38
In the entire history of world football, a perfect season has only ever been achieved by (league seasons):

Glasgow Rangers, Scotland, 1898-99 (18 game season)
Racing Club, Argentina, 1919 (13 games)

And Bayern München in the 2019-20 CL (although the quarters and semis were only one leg due to it being the Covid season… but if 13-23 game league campaigns count as perfect seasons, this should count too).

If we did this, we’d break football!

It’s mental to think that 38 wins gets you 114 points and we managed to get to 100. That’s fucking incredible when you think about it. 32 wins from 38, it’s unreal. Arsenal won 26 when they were invincibles which they harp on about at every turn. Not even close to 100 points.
It's even more fucking incredible when it should easily have been 105.

United collapse, and Huddersfield party.

City and our fanbase should make much more of us achieving 100 points. It was an absolutely incredible achievement!

I always say that it’s very odd that we sing the ‘it’s only 6-1’ chant regularly about one, non-unique, 6-1 victory at Old Trafford; yet we sing nothing about being the one and only Centurions in English football history.

Let’s not tempt fate, we just have to keep winning the next fixture

And start keeping clean sheets again.

We look vulnerable still through the centre of the pitch on the counter and also at set pieces.

The fixture list has been fairly kind to us, but the lads still deserve massive credit with so little pre-season rest.

If we come through October with flying colours, then we can start to feel more confident.

Put it this way, if Kev was fit right now, I would be confident October would be easier

I had a look at all other clubs who’d won a treble and how they did in the subsequent season(s):

Celtic, quadruple 1966-67
Won the league for the next seven seasons

Ajax, treble 1971-72
Next season: won the league and European Cup double

Liverpool, treble 1983-84
Next season: 2nd in the league, lost in European Cup final

PSV, treble 1987-88
Next season: won the league and cup double

United, treble 1998-99
Won the league for the next two seasons

Barça, treble 2008-09
Won the league for the next two seasons

Inter, treble 2009-10
Next season: won the Coppa, finished 2nd in the league

Bayern, treble 2012-13
Next season: won the league and cup double

Barça, treble 2014-15
Next season: won the league and cup double

Bayern, treble 2019-20
Won the league for the next three seasons

I know they’re all different eras and different leagues but it didn’t stop any of them challenging for honours again the next season, with 8/10 winning the league again.

With winners, they very rarely let their hunger wane.

Stones will be back soon, he knits everything together positionally

If we beat Forest next week. 18 points from first 6 games. We need 82 points from 32 games to be centurions again. 26 wins 4 draws 2 defeats. That looks more than possible again to me based on what I have seen so far this season.

Be amazed if we don’t get 90 points which would require 72 more. Let’s say 23 wins 3 draws and 6 defeats! That’s not happening. This team won’t lose 6 league games.

He takes us up so many levels, defensively and in build up.

Will be less concerned about our creativity in the middle of the pitch when John is making up the extra man.

Much as I love Kyle, he exposes too much playing same role.

He needs his recovery pace exactly because he is the one that doesn't fit that system.

100 points
A domestic treble
Three titles in a row
The Treble

What this group of players have achieved since Pep took the reigns and unparalleled in English football. The greatest team to play the game, there is no debate.

Liverpool are going to be a problem again aren't they.
Honestly, I just don’t see it.

They’ve already had to come from behind 3 times this season and look woeful at the back and struggle to control games the way they used to. I still think they’re a shadow of their former selves and quite frankly we’re on a different level.

Arsenal to me are the ones we need to watch although I think we’ll have too much for them too.
