Its what happens when you have a compliant Commissioner (Dick ) doing the Govt's doing on recruitment - prioritise volume over quality and recruit any tosspot who you really shouldn't. And I am talking about the Met though I recognise that also was the rags policy for over a decade too

I GUARANTEE he wont be convicted. It’s a paper exercise. His career is over. His mental health will suffer immensely. Disgusting way to treat an employee who was doing his job. And when he is found not guilty at crown court, that last sentence will be irrefutable before all the woke lot start jumping on this post. I kind of agree with you, but the law IMHO has to be the law. Hopefully he gets found not guilty.

I wonder when the next round of riots are starting?

The CPS would never have charged him when Kier Starmer was in charge.

The CPS's decision to charge murder will be base on whether they believe a law has been broken, and what the chances of a prosecution are.

It will probably be based around the officers very strict 'Rules of Engagement' (RoE) which are designed to be unambiguous. If the officer has acted outside of their RoE, then it would be difficult not to recommend a charge.

That's just the world firearms officers operate in, and why they train to such high standards.

I would seriously question these figures. ‘Restricted’ duties are used for officers returning from period of sickness or injury, including injury on duty. Doesn’t fit the narrative though.

In other news reports of dozens of Met firearms officers are handing their tickets in. Good. Enough is enough. They don’t get paid anymore for it. They get to make split second decisions with incomplete information only to be picked over for years after. Who’d volunteer for that?

Let’s hope the close protection officers withdraw from their duties-watch Sunak, Braverman et al complain then.

Policing in this country is reaching a tipping point. The daily criticism and abuse from the politicians and the media is depressing and soul destroying. It sets a narrative that they’re all crooks and wrong uns and only worthy of shit pay and conditions.

Give the police full industrial rights, including the right to strike. Fuck it. Let’s see what happens then.
