Surely that can't be real? Surely it's a wind up?

Dead giveaway for me is that reference to Melwood being 'steeped in folklore (where) great managers from Bill Shankly..'

Everybody knows that the copy should read:

'Melwood is steeped in folklore and where Bill Shankly was banned from coming back to after he retired as Liverpool manager'..
The rags must have wished they were big enough to do it with bacon face.

The football imbecile asked me this morning, if I could remember Jimmy Case.

"Yes," I replied.

"How great a player was he?"

"The problem was, back then, we only had one live match a season; the FA Cup final."

"But you had Match of the Day."

"Yes. It was only highlights."

"How good that midfield of Case, Souness and McDermott must have been."

"And all bought with Littlewoods money!"

Must be a great fan, so much so, he forgets to include a certain ‘Ray Kennedy’ in that midfield, you should remind him next time mate ;-)

And what a player he was... Terry Mc got the goals.. Jimmy Case provided the steel and Souey provided the control...

I've followed City for over 50 years. As yet, you don't know what a really shit season is.
I thought the l 1997-98 season under Frank Clarke then Joe Royle (not Joe’s fault) and 2006-07 under Pearce were our two only really shit seasons.

The feeling of getting relegated down to the third tier was worse than actually being in the third tier. Not scoring a goal at home after New Year was worse than being in the third tier.

I wasn’t around in the early 60s when we were supposed to be proper shit and had no fans turning up. And was too young to remember some of our mid-80s seasons.

The real sad thing here is that they all repeat this kind of crap to themselves so often and unchallenged, that they actually believe it to be true. Nonsense like "win (trophies) consistently with a very reasonable budget" are simply laughable.

Ha ha state of this.
If breaking numerous transfer records and being an obnoxious twat is the definition of a "pure footballing basis" then the grief monkey has got a point.
If it isn't, he's spouting absolute bollocks like the majority of their deluded cult.

All fair comments. But how many Evertonians have seen football outside the top flight? Or third tier? How many will turn up should such events occur?
