He's going the Trump route - Not bothered as long as his fans stay onside and convince themselves it's all a deep state conspiracy.

He’s not after the people with half a clue to be fair. There are millions with even less clue.

I agree completely, he comes across as a very dodgy person and my gut tells me there is a lot of truth in what has been reported, it just concerns me the way that this has come to light. Why have the media been undertaking a 4 year investigation rather than the police, i believe the 4 people making the most serious accusations went first to C4 rather than the police. I also struggle how if this was so well known in the industry why it wasn't acted on earlier. I was just making the point of how quickly the media can destroy someones reputation before a criminal investigation is concluded.

All that said, we have seen in the past how people protected Saville and so nothing would surprise me with them any more.

A couple of things, Channel 4 instigated these investigations and went to the women. The women didn't come to channel 4 with these stories. I listened to the journalist who did the article the other day and it started because of comedians who had been told to take out jokes about Brand from their shows.

It's also unlikely that the police have the resources to conduct such a widespread investigation on what are allegations, like this. Channel4, The Times and The Sunday times on this together probably have more time and ability to follow up on all leads to be honest.

Investigative journalists have been investigating because that’s what they do when they believe that there’s something in the public interest worth investigating that the police aren’t looking at. The police weren’t investigating because apparently there had been no complaints for reasons widely covered on this thread. As for the media destroying his reputation, as far as I’m concerned he was already well known as a grifting nonce with a following of deluded conspiracy nuts but now there’s a whole lot of new evidence to back up that view to add to what people have seen with their own eyes, which ironically will firm up the support of his deluded fans because there will be a new conspiracy for them to believe in.
 
His latest posts just make him look even worse. Clearly hasn't got anything he can say to support his case and isn't in a position to rebut the texts that came from his phone. All he has to offer is more unhinged ramblings. It's so obvious what he's doing and he isnt smart enough to see that.

And as for government trying to shut him down, I don't really see what they stand to gain from shutting down a crank who doesnt have the capacity to change anything. I see other celebrities with way more follower actually speaking out about real issues and affecting change in a way Russell Brand could only dream of. And I don't governments see going after them.
