The Conservative Party

The next question is whether, having legislated for the default position to be to collect streams separately, and with many people already in areas with 7 waste containers (8 if they collect paper and card separately), do they now blame councils for implementing their legislation?

Laughable. I have been banging on for years that this shower of sh1t never have a plan for anything and when they have had a complete plane now (net zero by 2050) they scrap it.

In any event net zero by 2050 is laughable. World carbon emissions have increased almost exponentially since the 1950's. It's categorically impossible to be carbon neutral by 2050 let alone carbon zero. There is also the fact that if the UK goes carbon zero tomorrow then it will make less than 0.5% difference to total emissions.

Personally I'm more worried about the natural environment, we can mitigate most of the effects of climate change however that's true for humans but not for insects and animals. The loss of biodiversity and the natural environment is inevitable regardless of what happens in terms of carbon emissions.

The only way to meet these targets and also protect the natural environment is to deprioritise growth and basically halt human progress for a century.

They hang the man and flog the woman
Who steals the goose from off the common
Yet let the greater villain loose
That steals the common from the goose

Essentially, nothing has changed since these words were written in the 17th Century. 'Stealing' is what the ruling class say it is. When they do it (for example by shorting the pound or taking bribes from foreign powers for influence) they define it as 'not stealing'. As a breach of trivial rules at worst. Some Committee tuts, the Daily Mail says it's a leftie plot against some noble statesman and nothing whatever is done.

What this country needs is radical reform. I see no hope whatever of us having it in the foreseeable future as the British public are supine and only get worked up about things that the ruling class tell them to get worked up about. Asylum seekers in boats, for example.

I see the Tories are preparing another rat run for people to attend their conference so they can get their pictures of angry lefties booing and egging them. JRM will be nursing his semi at the thought of it.

The lefties that go should boycott it. The optics of an empty street would show how distant they are from the electorate they are supposed to represent over their donors.

I agree but sadly there’s nothing the far left love more than a good old protest.
