Ref Watch City Games - 2023/24

Kavanagh could get home tonight and see Joelinton giving his missus one and he’d turn a blind eye to it, he’d even have made him a brew and left it out for him afterwards.
Fair enough. We got beaten as they scored and we didn’t. We had the opportunities to do so. We didn’t lose because of the referee.

It’s always easy to find a reason why our plucky side didn’t quite win, but it was our fault, not the referee’s.

What has the refs performance got to do with the result?

We could have won 0-5 and he’d still be fucking shit for letting Joelinton run around fouling everyone for 90 minutes.

A low key disgrace of a performance but still an absolute fucking disgrace. Did absolutely fuck all to stem their persistent fouling, Nunes got fouled 5 times in his first 5 mins on the pitch, booked Akanji for dissent but let Gordon off for charging up to him screaming in his face asking for a yellow for Kalvin.

Foden rugby tackled to the ground from behind late on and this **** just waves play on - summed up his night

Off topic but the only performance worse than the ref’s tonight was from the thick as fuck gleeful comms - sickening pair of cunts.
I stopped counting at 16 for the amount of times they kicked the ball away.

Spot on. I think that was the worst ref performance I’ve seen this season.

How many times did they kick the ball away? And he did sod all about it. They even kicked the ball away when they won their own free kick at one point.

Amazing isn’t it, all the time wasting we have to put up with every game from the 1st minute and it’s Eddie who gets most cards.
All the antics by Klopp, Artega etc and it’s now Pep who gets the bookings.
We are officiated differently, look at Dippers, last 3 home games 42 fouls conceded 1 yellow card and compare that to the joke cards we are issued with.

Tonight was a home performance by a weak ref. How we ended up with 2 cards each given their persistent fouling, kicking the ball away which only finally got a card on 76 minutes. Joe Linton was a joke all night getting away with foul after foul after foul

I’ll agree, just to stop the ding dong do replies. He could have been better and could have been worse.

I ain’t trying to say whose right or wrong nor do I want you to agree for sake, but he’s a poor ref that lad and showed again tonight, at least 3 times he put whistle to mouth and didn’t blow, and you know what saved him tonight ? I’ll tell you mate, having no var saved him

He was garbage tonight, but wasn't the reason why we lost. Bruno and Joelinton was allowed to just do as they please.
It 100% effects the outcome of tonight's game. When opposition players (Joelinton and others) were allowed to foul with impunity it gave them an UNFAIR advantage which effected the decision making of our players.

Why? The only challenge that would have been checked is when Phillips followed through on the top of the Geordie’s foot, close to the ankle, which is the borderline for a red card.

We moan when there is VAR and moan when there isn’t.

It’s the age old go to moan to criticise the ref when we lose. He might have been better, but he’s not influenced the result. Imho, of course.

Because he could make all his own decisions without being told something in his ear, plain and simple as that
