I think we would still want him if he was, Bernardo for me will be leaving next summer.

Especially by their own shirt sponsor? Really hope we get him and it gives me hope the way he went to Pep and Lilo for a hug before we played them, that sort of public statement tells me its not over yet.

Toney was officially charged by the FA in November 2022 and then subsequent charges were levelled in December of that year. He was officially banned in May 2023. Not entirely similar, I appreciate, but it gives an inkling of how slowly the wheels turn.

With the international nature of the Paqueta case, it may take even longer for things to come to a head, so I’d be surprised if he’s clear to move in the winter window. Indeed, my concern would be that the cloud might still not have lifted by next summer. That would make planning extremely difficult.

That would be June 2027! He is contracted with West Ham until then, but he reportedly has a release clause that becomes valid next June.

No, he has not been charged. My point was simply to give a comparison of quite how long the Toney case dragged on for.

And tbh not sure City would still go for a player that has colluded with other players on what is a betting syndicate.
But what Tolmie says is always right so let's see.
I would certainly love him at City, he's a cut above the rest and so suits our fast play.

Did we get Nunes when we didnt get Paqueta though? I mean as a replacement. Or were we always going to get the 2 players?

Can’t have enough quality players at this position, especially if it’s of Paqueta, hate the panic mood after Rodri red. I wish we can even go for him in Jan if all cleared.

If we go by what Tolmie said it seems that Paqueta is the long term Kev replacement.

KDB’s enforced break now may well prolong his career in the long run. He’s had no real rest for years.

IMO I would suspect that we will probably lose Bernie and with KDB "clocking on a bit" by next season then we will probably go back for him.
Pep just loves his midfielders doesn`t he and I think I read somewhere he stated that if he could sign any players they would be midfielders. ;)

Both because we know Silva be gone next summer! So suppose we wanted to get both bedded in for a season before Silva went! I see Nunes as the engine like Silva, Paqueta more of the playmaker but has that workhorse tackle in him..
