I don’t know, and nor does anyone else on this thread, and given that it’s perfectly understandable and permissible to hypothesise.
Hamas had a choice.
Go up against the IDF solely or attack Israeli civilians in what was nothing other than a terrorist attack on a scale the world has barely ever seen before.
They chose civilians because to them, all Israelis are targets and they want them all wiped from the face of the Earth and they did so knowing full well how Israel would respond.

Whilst I’m not accusing anyone of defending Hamas’s atrocities, there’s a few on here who seem to be going out of their way to question some of the detail to try and minimise it. Interviewing a few nutters at a pro-Israel rally doesn’t really give an indication of the sentiment of the majority, unlike an equivalent rally shown a few pages ago.

They are equally as bad as each other regarding this. Braverman now wants Palestinian flag waving a crime in parts of London.
