It was a very bad result for England, But Afghanistan was great in everything they did,

Did England really want it enough, By looking at the faces of the whole England setup, It was just smiles and laughing and looking like it was a holiday in the sun for the whole of the squad, I doubt there is any coming back from this and the Knockouts are miles away if you lose to Afghanistan.

Livingstone and Moeen Ali as well
I don't understand why Bairstow is being picked, OK he's in for the batting but his fielding is poor and looks overweight, looking at the group it looks like most of the other teams NZ will beat as well, So maybe getting them out of the way first will work in England's favour

I will say one thing ?
all of the above players you and I named will stand down after this world cup
 
We can only really afford to lose one more game from here. That’s no mere task with India, South Africa, Australia and Pakistan still to play.

Edut: It’s easy to say players are too old. You didn’t suggest anyone that was any better. A bit like your criticism of Root’s captaincy. You didn’t like it, but agreed with me at the time that Stokes was too injury prone.

Fucking hell mate this England set up are currently T20 and 50 over world champions a drop off was always to be expected. I would say the “brains” trust made a very crappy call at the toss.

my criticism was spot on and after today's loss to Afghanistan what else can you say

I could say this player or that player should be playing but what is the point when the ECB will just pick the same old crap

it's the whole body language of the England setup that is wrong, smiling. laughing. just sat back in the moment,
OK anything could happen in the next 6 games but a very big loss to Afghanistan in a very big table with only 4 teams going through is looking impossible from here,

Thing is you are not in the environment you have zero idea of how they take a defeat. Sometimes you have to just hold your hands up and say yep we were outplayed, no team no matter how good has the Devine right it’s sport, it’s variable and that’s why I love it.

But you want to see us put up a better fight, Yes an off day and the better team won, but some of the wicket we lost today was shocking, As for Buttler he missed the ball by a yard.
