Not if our northern quartered friend was coach. He’d decide who not to pick and we’d not put forward a team ;-)We’d get a team off here to beat England

Fixed slightly
That was fucking awful though today AHTNot if our northern quartered friend was coach. He’d decide who not to pick and we’d not put forward a team ;-)
From memory, you used to be a really positive poster on here. I'm not sure what turned you fella. Surely, not Root's captaincy? And no;I'm not wumming.Would me offering a solution change anything? it's the ECB and the selector's job and I think they don't come on Bluemoon and post in this thread.
well that is the rub
Losing normally comes with criticism, Winning normally brings joy and celebration and no time for a forum
lol, ok mate.
You stay negative, you can’t do much else.
Agreed. If slogging doesn’t work, we seem to lose more than we win. That was fucking awful though today AHT

I agree with Jim.
I think there’s a case to drop all the batsmen except Malan. Also Woakes or Curran. I can’t see us beating Pakistan, Australia India or South Africa. Most of the others seem to have clear game plans, other than just slog it. Sad really, but much worse things happening in the worldAgreed. If slogging doesn’t work, we seem to lose more than we win.
Stokes return might help a bit with the balance, but who do you drop?
Livingstone is the obvious choice, but his bowling is useful. Bairstow or Woakes?
I’d keep Root, Malan and Brooks. Buttler as captain probably won’t drop himself either.I think there’s a case to drop all the batsmen except Malan. Also Woakes or Curran. I think it’s too late anyway!I’d keep Root, Malan and Brooks. Buttler as captain probably won’t drop himself either.
That leaves Bairstow, Livingstone or a bowler.
Our bowling is so poor that maybe we need to slog away and hope to get enough to defend.
Probably, but sometimes when it’s all or nothing, gears and mindsets can change.I think it’s too late anyway!
I agree.I think it’s too late anyway!
Are you ancoats’ dad?I agree.
Totally agree, it's little wonder we've turned to shite, none of these players played in the one day cup this summer, playing in that made up shite the hundred. How many of our players actually play 50 over cricket?
The ECB have dumbed down the competition by playing at the same time as the 100.
So Livingstone, Buttler etc.. only play 50over cricket at International level.
Right up there with Hussain choosing to bowl first in the first ashes test at Brisbane in 2002Crazy to not bat first.

Thinking about epic collapses does anyone else remember the 1993 B&H Cup game between Surrey and Lancashire?
It was shown live on BBC1 and Lancashire crawled to 236. Surrey then got to 212-1 needing 25 to win off the last 6 overs they then proceeded to lose 9 wickets for 18 runs to be all out for 230 and Lancashire winning by 6 runs
