Middle East Conflict

Israel X yesterday finally posted the list of names that passed on the tragic 7 October.

An anoymous highlighted in blue and bright colour which of the list are military

At first it surprised me that the military is more than half of the list. Then it brought up this explainer video on photos I have not seen before, and the published statements by the news media I have not read before either.

I had listened of the survivors’ description a few weeks back though, and wondered if it was an exception than the norm. But with the photos, news media, survivor stories and the list combined - it is plausible that that time was a Hannibal directive.

Edit:
Wait, that video has been taken down. I’ll look for the same video and edit it here.

Edit:
Found that explainer video:

Make of it what you will.

Fs there is so much footage from hamas themselves never mind others of them butchering civilians. Many of the civilians might have been reservists or have done national service.

If hamas would have attacked army bases alone it would have been fair game in my eyes considering they are at war but they didn't did they.

That's a really sound offer from the oppressive invading superpower, what could possibly go wrong there, But Not sure what they will securing as there will be nothing left of it the way they are carrying on. On the plus side if there is nothing left of it they won't need to carry out any more war crimes under the pretext of 'getting rid' of Hamas and Bidet can go back t not looking like a complete nutcase

As far as I'm concerned the US is complicit in this mass slaughter and Biden is directly responsible.
While I think Trump is an abomination I hope Biden loses.
This will be a collective punishment on the population of America.

Trump moved the US embassy to Jerusalem and assassinated an Iranian general, he emboldened Israel not Biden.

About IHL for a state's exemption from article 2(4) in the case of self-defence largely mirroring the domestic laws of the UN members (common law in the UK) that self-defence should only be exercised in relation to real and immediate danger and be proportional to the threat. Which I think was his point.
Thanks. The problem with quoting laws for me is that unless you're trained, qualified, experienced and knowledgeable in it's application it's generally used to underpin an opinion or a belief. That was my point. Out of interest, what is the methodology for measuring the proportionality referenced in the passage you quoted?

It’s you’re, and not your…You’re welcome again.

Please enlighten me as to why I’d be happy for Hamas to be “kicking off this war”, when we all knew how Israel would react based on their penchant for mass slaughter of Palestinians historically, for far less?

What your simple mind doesn’t seem able (or want) to comprehend is this didn’t happen in a vacuum.

There would be no Hamas if the Palestinians were treated with dignity and fairness in the first place rather than what we have seen for 75 years and are seeing right now.
So you are happy that Hamas brought Israeli vengence down on themselves and clearly do support the aims of Hamas. At least we all know where you stand now.

LOL, once you’ve cleaned up the foam from your mouth, I suggest you get someone else to read my posts and explain them too you.

Seriously you really do need help. Do yourself and your family a favour and go see your local GP.
Ah insults.
Enjoy dancing on the eye of a needle.
the bottom line is you don't think Israel has the right to defend itself.
I think it has but it has gone to far in targeting Hamas leaders amongst Palestinian civilians.
That said, it won't stop this time till Hamas is defeated - and that is the view of the isreali Labour party as well. All israeli mainstream political parties believe this is a war of survival. Are they right? The balance of probabilities probably says yes they are for if Hamas gains as a result Hezbollah will pile in next.

Oh bless.
It seems you accept propaganda and emotive videos at face value, but don't accept other information (e.g. news reporting) that doesn't match your agenda.
Everything you see from this war requires Independent verification. EVERYTHING. Not just what doesn't match your agenda. Those sources that prove to be accurate can be sort-of-trusted (you can never be 100% sure). Those that aren't should be treated with a heavy dose of scepticism.
Each to their own I guess.
Trusted sources like an IDF spox and a Likud war cabinet member. Lmfao.

I think it's a safe bet to assume that Hamas are self serving. I think everyone, including the people of Gaza, will be a lot better off once they are neutralised, annihilated, wiped out, pick your own term.

Given that we are over ten thousand how many more people of Gaza need to be neutralised, annihilated, wiped out .... pick your own term.... before they become 'a lot better off' ?

I think the problem with the pro Israel mob on here is essentially they don't think Palestinians have the right to armed resistance. I mean after all why would they want to resist the cuddly Israelis.
