Rival Fans Commentating on City Games

The most unprofessional thing I witnessed didn't even involve us . it was when united beat Arsenal last season early in the season and Gary Neville was on co-commentary and he was literally screaming and cheering down the microphone when they've scored.

I understand he is a united fan and people get caught up in it but you're being paid to do a job and you should do a professionally

They're a disgrace
Robbie Savages "look at the neck muscles" scream a couple of seasons back when Ronaldo scored a header in the Europa will probably haunt me to the grave

stopped paying for Sky at end of 2018/19 season and told Sky that was down to Carragher and his unprofessionalism, when asked for examples i pointed out that he wore a rag shirt ahead of the Manchester derby but it was the one the day of the Leicester game when Vinny scored that goal, him & Neville wore walking round the Etihad hours before kick off and walked into Legends lounge to which Carragher shouted "theres nobody in there" before laughing, Neville looked kind of embarrassed for him

As long as you would have though it a clear penalty had it being given against us that's fine.
I would have hated it. and I would have hated the way Carragher justified it as "The chelsea player couldnt jump at the crucial point so penalty for me, yeah its weak but it IS a penalty.

There are usually multiple points of view of everything. Carraghers ALWAYS is against us in those situations where its fifty/fifty. Every time (Unless it doesnt matter)

And I listened to other commentary too. They said "well spotted by the ref" on that. The narrative is and is always set by our rivals fan pundits. They want Fernandinho stopped, then tell everyone he commits fouls, raise the profile of that. They think it wasnt handball by Gomez just ignore it and concentrate on the lfc goal. I find them slyly divisive.

We seem to get City players who aren't really City fans. Richards and Sturridge for example yesterday.
They're both Arsenal fans, I believe. Part of the problem is that most of the people involved, such as Neville, Carragher, and Richards, are not content to be just analysts. Instead, they want to be personalities as well, and so they have to pander to a certain audience to remain relevant. I always mute matches and never watch their 'banter' anyway, so I suspect I'm not their target demographic, thankfully.

if only Var was just used to highlight shithousery it would stamp out a lot of the thuggery, feigning injury, head-rubbing when no contact, surrounding and abusing refs #mufc, cynical deliberate fouls etc, the game would be better for all(except vested interests)

I did little bits of fan zone work for Sports Tonight Live but I think my hatred of certain clubs would make it too hard to be neutral-ish even if I was there as a Blue.

They were desperate to see if Haaland had touched the ball with his hand which he would have known nothing about as the ball rolled into the net behind him.
I think they were checking the rules hoping they could disallow it if it touched a hair on his arm AFTER it had crossed the line!

The only answer is to go to every game possible.
Watching us on UK TV is awful since we became dominant.
I must admit I watch to most of our matches with the volume muted and don't both with any pre or post match coverage.

Agree with this. Sounded pervy.
Not sure if Savage is such a huge MUFC fan now they have got rid of his son Charlie ?
Remember Savage senior regularly extolling the virtues of his son. He is now at Reading...

Carragher will only get worse as the season goes on,if that is possible , his Dipper team look like they might make a fist of a title challenge and it will be a beautiful thing when it comes to the last day and they get the same result , the result they get every season , finishing a very desperate and pointless second place.
We have left the Dippers with deep scars over the years and the likes of Carragher have bitterness in every pore , we can take pleasure from his blatantly bias version of events, it all stems from jealousy , frustration and an inferiority complex , afer all they are Dippers , finishing 2nd best to Manchester is in their DNA and anyway they love playing the victims.

The game was stopped for all of them, the ball was out of play! They definitely "STOPPED" the game to check 2 of the goals for offside,

But apart from City's goals check VAR did not come up on the Stadium screens . That tells me there was a more intense and longer check on the City goals.
