PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

The 'PL is looking for a wayout' scenario that many posters think is happening isn't a goer in my view.

The charges have been handed over to an independent panel and they will examine them all to establish guilt or not. What they won't be doing is any horse trading such as you accept this one and we'll drop these. They also won't be having rival clubs telling them what they want to happen.

I am sure this has most likely been covered at some point in these nearly 3000 pages but please can someone with more intelligence in the matter tell me if we are deemed not guilty, would we then be able to sue the PL for defamation and potential loss of earnings, the public declaration of the 115 charges hasn't been a great thing for reputation.

Is this some sort of "best case scenario" compromise you've thought of?

Because that effectively is admitting "hey, we must have cheated in some capacity, so let's hope they're lenient with us!" mentality. I don't believe we have done anything wrong at all, aside from the non-compliance, but that's what i'd have expected City to do having been accused of being fraudulent.

Even if we're fined £100,000 and given a 1 point penalty that would be completely unacceptable because that's the PL finding us guilty of something in which we've done nothing wrong. I don't want compromises or hope of a lenient sentence, I want a full aquittal and apology from the PL.

Hope we are cleared completely but don't think it will happen. And not because we are guilty. Interpretation of rules and actions will play a key role, and this is where the wider context will be essential.

The outcome won't have big winners: severe punishing or no punishing at all. I'd say it's pretty obvious. And again, not because we are objectively guilty of something fraudulent.

Fans of other teams will scream corruption even if we get cleared. Don't care about them. Envy is a bitch.

All day this.

No.

There seems to be more airtime and column inches directed at City than at Everton.

Not a single discussion or interview fails to mention us by name or the involvement of state owned clubs ( which were not) so many experts/pundits think Everton shouldn't be deducted points and the punishment is too severe, then have the audacity to say we should be deducted points, record fines, expulsion from the leagues, titles stripped, and this is before we've had a chance to prove our innocence.

My phone hasn't stopped since yesterday, messages and memes from both scum fans and murderers who've all become Judge Judys overnight, they've swallowed and believed the bile that has been spewed about us and added there own truths and opinions.

Anything less than the total destruction of our club will be seen as an injustice and a cop out by our haters, fuck em all.

Interesting that as far as I'm aware even though they've semi 'fessed up' there's been no charges put out against Chelsea.

It's almost like the PL are going to look into it before damaging the club with xx amount of charges, yet we get 115 pointing fingers at us.

I've always been and still am 100% sure we'll be fine but, that's assuming the 115 are assessed fairly.

Whatever happens to Everton's appeal, Chelsea or us football or should I say redshirted teams are trying their best to kill the golden goose, the public are fickle and if deemed to be full of teams cheating will turn off and we'll all be fucked, well the ones in debt will.

So you think City will be found guilty of fraud? That's what the charges relate to? I don't personally as if they had evidence surely they would have substantiated their claims by now. Yet four years later and we've heard nothing more, why would that be. City has denied all allegations and basically said put up or shut up. The silence is deafening. My guess is that the PL are looking for a way out to save face, with City accepting some minor punishment, but City have said no, we're not accepting anything.
Time to put this to bed once and for all, if we are innocent ( no reason to believe we are not from Khaldoon's comments) then we fight this and don't accept any form of punishment. The club's reputation has already been tarnished and this whole process of having to defend ourselves from these allegations is becoming tiresome and boring.

Even if found not guilty, our reputation will never recover.
We will just be the dirty oil club who paid off the panel, fuck em

I agree wholeheartedly.

But let's say we completely disprove 4 out of 5 of the groups of charges, which is possible. How does anyone disprove the non-cooperation charge. It is more subjective, and if the panel decide that, not accepting it doesn't do much.

That battle was lost years ago when we didn't lock horns and still don't, while mentalist's like Harris and mainstream media wankers spew out shite and we still do nothing, the club have seemingly now chucked the towel in at those feeding the gammons of the world.

It'll be interesting to see how the Saudis deal with the media tsunami over the next few years.
