PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

It was always a laughable notion that the PL wouldn’t be able to afford a legal team every bit as strong as ours.
The thing that screws us will be if doctored/ hacked documents can be used as genuine evidence.

That's it isn't it.. what Rui Pinto says vs what City accountants/ sponsors/ CEO say!

Surprised that more hasn’t been made of Alison Brittain’s possible role in all this. A self-confessed United fan, she became PL chair in January and within a month these charges are hastily announced. Was it a pre-condition to certain clubs approving her appointment? Can she really be considered in any way neutral?

The hacked emails were considered permissible evidence at CAS, and will be again here. The emails alone though are far from sufficient to find us guilty of what is being alleged.

I'm not at all sure that these charges are a direct result of either rival clubs (usual suspects) putting pressure on the PL or the fact that a United fan is the chair really. They must think they have a case as it makes no sense to launch a suicide mission against the leading club just to placate some others knowing it's doomed to failure. You'd imagine the top legal team they've assembled might have mentioned it too if they thought it was a no-hoper.

It might be a comforting thought that Alison Brittain said 'let's stick it to the Berties' but again how realistic is that? They are going all out with no expense spared and it's going to be legal warfare.

Doesn’t count for much aside from gave them a dry run albeit with less documents. But the principles and difficult of proving the case for the PL is as hard on this one as it was for UEFA
However hard it was, it didn’t stop one of the 3 CAS judges voting against us at almost every opportunity. Mind you, he was hand-picked by the opposition……

Yeah despite being a Cockney red I actually quite like Goldstein. He's a good sport and amusing in a way - not nasty or vitriolic towards City despite his dodgy taste.
No problem with the guy, the subtle and not so subtle on Talksport are Jordan, Kelly, Rushton, the penis flasher Glendenning, and I believe the Forest fan Goldbridge has now got his own spot, and sadly McCoist is showing signs to be turning red.

Far too many on this thread need to do the following:
• stop buying newspapers
• listen to music on the radio instead of talkSPORT
• Stay off twitter.
• No podcasts.

Honestly it’ll be better for your health, sit back and let the most well organised and best run club in world football handle it.
Add avoid VAR and I'm with you.

Haaland signed for us before the charges, if we get a hefty sentence he will be off just like pep will be off as well, everything we have built could come tumbling down. Let's hope we come out this okay but I keep swinging between two mind sets regarding all of this one minute I think we're going to be fucked bad then I see something on here that makes me think otherwise. Let's hope we come out of it okay.
Agreed. Assuming the tribunal is independent and we have genuinely committed some serious misdemeanours then we will deserve some form of punishment which will no doubt spell the end of the Pep project and all that entails. Based on everything I have read/heard etc I don't believe the club have fucked up. I am still of the belief this is a witch hunt. It was the same with the UEFA process. Complete shambles. We've gate crashed the party. The establishment don't like it now and didn't like it then. That's why the goal posts moved repeatedly on ffp by UEFA to catch City out. And now, the PL have thrown the book at us in a hurry which feels like more of a 'fuck you!' because of sheer frustration with their investigation. They've got nothing. If they had us by the goolies why did they rush their announcement about the charges out? Someone was leaning on them. Plus they were trying to look tough in front of the government.

Unless there's something we don't know about, City should be able to defend themselves. The PL have to prove City have committed fraud on an industrial scale. If they manage to do that our legacy is in tatters. The experts don't think they will be able to.

City...Manchester City...we are the lads who are playing to win!

Good point, but can the same be proven? I doubt there are any official records detailing conversations about charging City.

But, unless the management of City have been gaslighting its fans for almost 10 years, with their unequivocal stance relating to the mud being thrown, you are left with wondering what actually is the reason for UEFA and now the PL persueing such a cock eyed and biased view, without examining in forensic detail other clubs accounts and practises … or declaring ‘small breech’ but not specifying what it was , or not investigating hacking/50m ffp writeoff on some minor spadework for a not happening stadium …
It stinks, but not in the way that it is being spouted by know nowts.

I bet these amateurs will have sent numerous indiscreet emails or WhatsApp’s to each other…. Discussing how they are gonna fuck us over.

Everyone seems to be saying the Everton case means we will be hammered.
If this comes off and an independent regulator is set up immediately to reassess it that would effectively mean they would have to sit on our charges too.
I suspect though Parliament will just wimp out and say "not our problem "

"Everton's 10-point deduction by the Premier League has been taken to Parliament after a Liverpool MP called the punishment "grossly unfair".

Ian Byrne, Labour MP for West Derby, has tabled an early day motion (EDM) in the House of Commons which will be laid on Tuesday for other MPs to consider.

Everton received the sanction on Friday after being found to have breached the Premier League's financial rules.

Byrne also called to "immediately establish" an independent regulator."

C'mon blue

This is exactly what the cunts wanted you to think. Don't let them grind you down

Listen to the posters on here that know what they're talking about. Listen to Khaldoon constantly repeating we have 'irrefutable evidence', listen to the greatest man on the planet saying he is 100% sure our owners haven't lied to him, see all the transfer rumours about us targeting £100m players in the summer and watch a £300m stadium development rise from the ground.... If our owners had the slightest concern we were going down that project would have been paused immediately

Pep ain't going nowhere. One thing good that will come out of it IF we get a ban or a fine( IMHO that won't happen) is that all these plastic fuckers we've seemed to have amassed in the last 10 years who didn't even give us a 2nd look before will fuck off and not come back.

No, the hearing will certainly go ahead. We just don’t know when yet, but a good chance it happens next year.
I do wonder if the whole case getting thrown out for technical/procedural reasons might not be the 'out' the PL need if it is without substance - that avoids having to say we are not guilty.
