You've still not read my first post.

If a keeper is expected to concede 34 goals (the "shit defence"), but only concedes 30, they've prevented 4 goals, which is just over 10% better than expected.

If a keeper is expected to concede 14 goals, but only concedes 10, they've also prevented 4 goals, but that's nearly 30% better than expected.

Onana is second only to Alisson in % terms. He also has the best save % in the league at just under 80% - again only Alisson is comparable.

Only 4 teams have conceded less goals than United in the Premier League, so suggesting they have a shit defence just isn't true.
Not all teams are of equal quality though.
When the rags play the big hitters the stats may well change.

That's a long post, to come to the wrong conclusion. He's been shit, that's why they are panicking like fuck about him.
The conclusion was that he's a bizarre keeper, but that he's been a net positive in the PL this season (where United's problems are clearly in attack, not defence). Which isn't wrong.

He's mad some awful mistakes in the Champions League, which is why a lot of people appear confused. But then, as I said, bizarrely, he was by some distance the best keeper in the Champions League last season.

I only started replying because someone suggested the stats were nonsense because he was being compared to the Luton keeper. Well, I showed that he's actually comparable only to Alisson in terms of saves in the PL, and last year in the CL he was more important to Milan than Courtois was to Real Madrid.

To me, having seen how long his blooper reel is, that's bizarre.

A donkey, that sometimes may be mistaken for a thoroughbred horse, is still a fucking donkey.
Lies, damned lies and statistics.
I often have palpitations when Eddie is doing his 'playing out from the back' cabaret act, but it never seems to go wrong. If we had Onana in nets the medics would be seeing to me before the fuckin' warm up had finished.

I've just watched the first twenty seconds replay of last season's FArceCup Final (something tells me I'll never tire of watching those twenty seconds or so!). No doubt their new man would have caught Gundog's volley one handed, just like Bert used to!

So before a game starts a keeper is expected to concede a certain amount of goals.
What a load of bollocks.
However you look at it his kicking is shit and his keeping isn't much better .
He's a liability

the bloke cant catch a ball, the saves he does make he knocks the ball away, he must have flippers rather than hands

No. That would be a load of bollocks.

A keeper is expected to concede a certain amount of goals based on the actual shots he's faced in actual games.

As in, if a keeper faces ten penalties, you'd expect him to have conceded 7 or 8 goals. Assuming they're all on target, if he concedes 10 he's not doing well. If he concedes 5 he's doing better than expected.

Fuck me you are one deluded twat...
A final between 2 teams who have won 1 (one) Premier league title between them since 2014..
Bigger than the Champions league...
Seriously are you for fucking real??
No he’s not for real, he’s a grade A wumming wank stain that should be banned from here ..

With Onana heading off on African Cup of Nations duty next month, United have been busy scouting a stopgap keeper of equal ability.

I think the golden glove should go to the keeper with the best save percentage, not clean sheets.

A keeper who plays for Luton, Sheffield United for example is going to be a lot busier than a keeper who plays for City or Liverpool.
If Eddie lets in 2 shots more than Becker, but gets 3 assists then who is the better keeper?

Ten Hag, is picking one stat from one competition to try and take the heat off himself and the keeper. It's utterly bizarre to infer he's the 2nd best keeper in the PL based off one stat.

The point j was attempting to make albeit possibly not very well is Rashford earns £300k a week and that car is worth around £200k

Now if you scale those 2 sets of figures down...

A minimum wage earner taking home £300 a week would need to be driving a car worth no more than £200 for the "5% of the cars value" fine to be an equal punishment?

Obviously it's not realistic for anyone to be driving around in a car worth only £200 these days, probably the minimum for a vaguely reliable car would be £2,000... so proportionally the minimum wage earner is being far more severely punished when you compare earnings v car value when faced with a 5% of value fine.
How much is the fine I'd you only ride a bicycle?
