I'm not remotely interested in your opinion (take note Jim Beglin and Leon Osman).
The best commentary I have heard lately has been in the champions league where there is only one person and he is telling you who has the ball, a shot was deflected etc.
I always think back to when we used to listen on the radio and the commentators job was to paint a picture of what was happening on the pitch.

We all know those 3 are shite. What should have happened is despite their playing experience they should have been binned because they are poor pundits.

What we have now is shite pundits who can't even comprehend playing at the elite level.

Everyone can talk about anything they want on social media. Barton was never good enough to be paid to discuss the big PL games or CL games on tv and rightly isn't called on as a pundit. If we were to list everyone's experience on PL games he is however much higher up the list than Alex Scott, Aluko or any other women pundits.

It’s the reason they’re normally from a successful club with a few winners medals in the cupboard at home and not ex-players who played in League One or Two (which is a far better level than the women’s super league).

No, it’s not.

The physicality and strength of League One/League Two players is obviously higher, as they’re men, but the skill levels are nowhere near the abilities of the players in the WSL.

I agree there are probably too many women in these roles ,too soon and it’s a feeling a bit forced in the men’s game.
But to then Generalise all women in football and equate it to ‘taking a tackle in the men’s game’ and then he keeps changing his argument as it is falling apart

He also somehow thinks that being from a racist, scum, women beating, violent family etc makes him ‘working class’

As I said earlier, it’s not a similarly low standard as non-League football.

The WSL is the élite level in women’s football in this country.

For what it’s worth, I think Izzy Christensen - ex-Manchester City - is one of the best pundits around. She is far more insightful and eloquent than Spit the Scouse, gargoyle Gary or Jamie Catflapp.

Exactly this. I myself will admit, unabashedly, to preferring male commentary over female. But I'm not appalled like this wanker when a woman commentates, nor do I need to see a shrink for not changing the channel. He did what he did because he's desperate to whore himself to some rancid, far-right broadcaster.

If you don't like the commentary, and you're in a position of spotlight, keep it to yourself and have a little grumble in private. But to air his insecurities publicly like he did, and denigrate and discredit the work of an entire gender and start a conversation that didn't need having was cowardly. And to single out that City vlogger, a grown man attacking a young woman doing her level best at something, was slimy. Thing is, viewing figures will always dictate; if so many are put off by the females then those figures will plummet and a change would be made, but they're not because most men aren't total wet wipes.

He's a lowlife. Always has been, always will be.

I've played at a Sunday league level in 'mens' football so that makes me more qualified than all of the female pundits?

Coupled with that, as Wenger and Mourinho didn't play at s high level are suggesting that they can't give good insight into the game?

How anyone can think that the likes of Jill Scott are somehow less qualified or informative than the likes of Michael Owen, Martin Keown or Steve McManaman purely because she doesn't have a cock is blatantly incorrect.

The need to have played at the highest level seems a little silly.

Perhaps art critics should have to paint to the standard of Rembrandt to have a qualified view, or maybe Sid Waddell should have left darts to those that have chucked arrows at the highest level.

Anybody who’s done their coaching badges are qualified to comment on tactics.

Can you imagine the uproar if a female pundit pissed around as much as Micah does, whilst adding the square root of fuck all insight into the game?

Fortunately, Barton’s plea will land on the deafest of ears and it’ll carry on how the broadcasters want, not what a washed up manager has to say.
