André

They could sign Luiz as they made him one of their top earners, giving him enough points to qualify for a WP.

We could have done the same, but decided he wasn’t worth £250k a week, or whatever we would have needed to pay him to be in the top earner bracket.
Surely that’s money motivated . If you don’t qualify for a permit then you can’t have one and if shouldn’t matter how much money your on .

Is this interest serious? I don’t want to get too excited if it’s just mikes away rumours .

He looks great on YouTube, and seeing how tired Rodri was in the last game, I am not against this transfer at all. At the money quoted, it's a relatively low-risk move for us. If it doesn't work out, we can move him on to Girona and perhaps go for Aleix Garcia in the summer.

To be honest every point you say I would argue against.

If we need a replacement for Rodri and Pep wont trust players with significant of european and premiership experience I would be surprised if he would use a player with no experience outside Brazil immediately, therefore resulting in Rodri not getting any rest at all this season.

We have just done a couple of transfers in midfield at fees which could be argued are at low risk, with the end result being players sat on the bench Pep wont trust. Its a false economy for me, buying because the price is right, but then seeing those players just sit on the bench and not make a meaningful contribution.

If the lad is good enough buy him to replace Rodri if not go out and aim to but someone who can.

The difference being is that most City fans were meh regarding Kovacic, & positively underwhelmed by Nunes who seemed to be a panic buy after we withdrew from the Paqueta deal & had a last minute bid for Ezé rejected. ¯\_(⊙_ʖ⊙)_/¯

André is completely different. I don't recall him being on our radar previously, & many City fans have seen things in the 22 year old which make complete sense in respect of our advancement, than they did with Kova & Nunes in particular.

We need a replacement for Philips. This kid & Pahlinha are being touted as possible replacements. At £30m, I've seen enough to say this André warrants our interest irrespective of his reported modest transfer fee.

Yeah, I can see where you are coming from. I think we can both agree that we need someone who can help Rodri out immediately, whether it is Palhinha, Andre, or someone else. We need someone, and we need someone in January.

That’s how they were worked out though. You get points for certain things and if you have enough when they’re totted up, you qualify and if not, you don’t.

He looked very composed defensively for a guy his age - really good, so I would think he could help us immediately in that regard but Rodri contributes so much offensively with passing and scoring, we would loose that from games.

So I'd rather blow an extra 30 mil on Paulinha. Andre is a slow burner but will be good.

Got a great engine, will need some acclimatising if we go for his though, he still has that 'rawness' players from South America have. Learn a bit of la pausa and he seems to have the required qualities.

Andre may well be satisfied being a squad player, for now at least, Paulinha probably wouldn't.

if we intend to play 2 DM s yes, but as Pep doesn't normally then no.
We have been short of Midfield players for some time, the game is changing and our MF looks slow and slightly lethargic.

We need some pace and energy in there, and I am not sure Pep trusts Foden to go in there long term.

Kovacic was a stop gap and Nunes long term has question marks.

Andre at 30m is well worth a punt and is clearly a huge talent, Paulinho could come straight in and hit the ground running, Rodri needs help on the field and also needs to be playing less games.

Anything KDB gives us this season will be a huge bonus.
