The kit has been removed for sale from online shopThat’s not how it works. Trademarks are limited to the area you operate in.
So I could open up a company called SuperDry that makes cat litter and neither would be able to sue me because their protections are limited to fashion and brewing/drinks respectively.
The reason they’re taking action against City is because they think the club is selling clothing with SuperDry on and the clothing company’s trademark is in that category.
Even if they win the consequences would likely be just be that us fans get to buy training kit etc without the sponsor. The players would still wear the Asahi sponsored kit.

Superdry are in a mess financially. They're heavily indebted and the share price has plummeted. They've been selling off assets to try to improve their balance sheet.
This is the legal equivalent of a sting from a dying wasp.
Also, in 2002, Asahi filed an objection to Superdry using that name. That failed on the grounds that the brand name Asahi was used, which enabled the two brands to be distinguished. The word 'Asahi' is very prominent on the training kit, so it's hard to see how this action will succeed.
