Mr Bates vs the Post Office

The Post office must have realised the significant spike in wrong balances after the introduction of Horizon. Why didn’t they put someone in the shops to watch the operation of the system in say 3 of the post offices concerned. No doubt the subpostmasters would have been relieved to cooperate and then the wrong balances could have be identified as NOT the fault of the subpostmasters. The PO were only concerned with covering their own backsides at the expense of totally innocent people. This stinks to high heaven and those responsible, at both the P.O. and Fujitsu need nailing and holding to account. As usual ordinary folk are the patsies of the self interested bastards with their noses in the trough.

Mate that lady Joan was investigated and they even said in the investigation letter there was no proof she did it, yet they still did her and made her sign something saying she did which she didn’t!

Not Royal Mail
Royal mail owned Post office till 2012 a Royal mail senior IT manager on 5 live today claims to have escalated the issues during his time there and it is unthinkable that this would not cross Adam Croziers desk

I'd forgotten about that tosser. I wonder where he is now?

Correct and it shows how corrupt they were. It’s beyond belief. The P.O has perverted the course of justice. An individual who did so would be prosecuted and rightly face grave consequences as should the people concerned at the P.O. and Fujitsu. Like everyone else I am fuming with rage that this could happen.

No
PO is govt owned.
RM is a private company.

Royal Mail was part of the post office until 2012.

Nobody remember the massive under valuation and sell off of loads of cheap shares to Cameron’s chums at the time?

Worth a fortune days after, what a lucky coincidence for them.

Royal Mail shares were offered to the public. Retail investors received an allocation of 227 shares equivalent to £749.10 at the offer price of 330p. That's now worth about £594. Those who wanted more than £10,000 got nothing.
So not much of an investment!

That was another thing the Postmasters got stitched up on we were issued shares in Royal mail but they were withdrawn when the split came.

I know they were but a huge chunk were sold to city investors before the retail plebs like you and me could get involved. Miraculously the price doubled immediately and they were then sold off.

The price fluctuation over the subsequent decade is irrelevant.

The government knowingly undervalued that initial offering.

That’s my recollection anyway. I don’t own Royal Mail shares - most of my investments are US tracker funds - so my memory might be wrong!

He was a CEO whilst it was going on so he must have known, either hes a liar or incompetent or both.
He is the one who took the momentous decision to take pushbikes off postmen. Maybe that is really his level in management if it wasn't a "jobs for the boys" scenario. Or maybe he thought it would enhance a tough manager image if he went along with the prosecutions of so many innocent people. Either way he needs to be in this investigation not protected because he is an exec at ITV.

Too late.
He and Anne Chambers are being investigated by the Met.
