Mr Bates vs the Post Office

It'll be interesting later this year when Labour are back in power and they open the books to see where all the money's gone during these last 14 years. I am looking forward to it, on both counts. Hoping quite a few Tories like porridge.

I see the Lib Dem’s defence of Ed Davy is he relied on what he was told by the PO.

This really speaks to the problem of MPs “with portfolio”, do they actually try and get across any of the detail or just sit with a fancy job title staring out the proverbial window? Leadership is a choice, they chose to lead. So lead.

I have responsibility’s for things in my day job and when someone tells me something I ask questions to validate their thinking and make sure they’ve thought about everything - when I relay what I’m told to my bosses it’s my responsibility to give them accurate information - I can’t later say what I was told wasn’t right blame that person. I don’t need to understand the topic at hand either, often I don’t, it’s just basic common sense.
Tony Blair's defence over his WMD claim

It would appear that Paula is the best of a bad bunch.

For those who’ve watched, listened to the numerous documentaries in detail.

Are the stories around Adam Crozier being completely left out of the TV show because he’s at ITV, justified criticism? Or was he nothing to do with it?
Leave it, pal. You'll only get bored.

700 sub-postmasters x £75k compensation = £52.5m (or one Erling Haaland). I think the government/treasury can, and should, significantly increase that offer.

I don't know what a sub-postmaster wage is, let's say £40k/yr. Multiply that by 20 years of being fucked around and we're at £800k. Per person.

That’s just recouping financial losses. What price reputations and mental damage. £75k is a joke and I hope the postmasters tell them to get real

Plus the pension they would be getting, add to that interest and then loss of dignity, freedom, health etc etc. 75k is nowhere near.

A number of MPs jailed for fraud were Labour. I imagine you forgot?

So they reckon if you have been wrongly convicted you’re going to get £600k that’s more like it, but £75k is still shot everyone should be getting 6 figures at least. Take it out their profits.

Whilst you are correct, so was I to the question asked

Yes and no, we were both right/wrong to an extent. Not that it matters it wasn't the point I was making in my original post. The point was it is very hard for the little person to take on a big corporation.
