Mr Bates vs the Post Office

What is an expert, SB “someone who knows more than an ordinary person”, do you know more about Horizon than than them? Yes but I’m not an expert, fuck me, the guys a twat.

I'm not an expert but am quite prepared to accuse and run prosecutions of SPM's that the Horizon system that I don't understand accuses of being on the fiddle.

Riddle me that logic if you can.

Thats like a cop charging you with speeding then standing up in court and saying he had never been in a car has no idea how the driver would tell what speed they are doing and indeed he didn't even know how to turn on the speed gun he was holding...... but he was sure you were speeding

Just to be shallow for a minute, is this going to entertain if I watch it. I'm in the mood for drama, not docu-drama. If anyone gets what I mean. Is is is a good watch just on it's face.

We’ve all surely worked places with incompetent managers, popular yet useless colleagues and systems that don’t work?

There’s always been nepotism, jobs for the boys, cliques, grassing etc. HR often seem just there to protect management.

HR protect the company. End of. The ‘little man’ doesn’t stand a chance when HR get involved.

it's a riveting watch

The big lawyer (didn't catch his name) took no prisoners with Bradshaw.

It's an incredible watch, it's better than any fictional drama I have ever seen. I've watched every single witness-not once have I felt inclined to go and do something else. It's truly explosive. Pick any hearing session and give it a go, you will soon be hooked.

They tell you they are there to help but you're right, in reality most of them are sly fuckers working to protect the company.

If anyone ever says they are a "people person" and work in HR, you know they are either lying or a lying c*nt

HR people know they are the first in (to recruit) and the last out (to get rid)

as a former Union workplace rep who dealt with everything from disciplinary to national wage negotiations so I dealt with HR several times per week. I can confirm that is the way the work - which is why it makes sense to join a recognised union so you have someone going into bat with you

For those that don't know Gareth Jenkins was the IT architect for Fujitsu, he is most certainly going to prison.

This merchant banker?

Well he could argue he designed it and didnt code it. Suspect there will be multiple people dragged into it
Multiple people that have ALREADY been dragged into it, Anne Chambers of Fujitsu is another that has already been charged and under police investigation.
Gareth's particular problem is that he will face very serious perjury and perverting the course of justice charges, all of which seemingly have already been proved during the inquiry and that is before he himself has appeared!
He has been scheduled to appear twice but on the eve of both scheduled appearances POL suddenly found and disclosed further documents relating to him which meant his evidence has to be delayed, call me a cynic but it seems to me that POL are keen that Jenkins is put off for as long as possible

Well that scouser was a belligerent twat.

The word expert is thrown around like confetti. As someone who has worked in the IT industry for 30 years, I couldn't claim it. Experienced maybe but not an expert. And as we know there are lot of people in jobs who shouldn't be there and when the systems go down they are found hidden in the toilets while the real 'experts' are the ones fixing the issues. Thankfully worked for companies that were decent rather than the Fujitsu's and the Cap Gemini's of the world. Unsurprising these crap consultancies get all the Government contracts aswell.

God, this corporate speak reminds me of the Further Education College I worked for 30 years prior to retiring early in 2019. The College Principal has married the Head of HR ( his second wife as his first had sadly passed away). Therefore a lot of things were decided between them, I would surmise. While I personally think this Principal did some good things for the College he could be a vindictive, nasty bullying **** to anyone who opposed him or his instructions. The thing I always remember, that our then Head of Health and Safety (another bullying ****), told me his job is primarily to stop the Principal and College getting sued, funnily enough I always thought fis first duty was to ensure correct health and safety practices and procedures for all College, staff, students, and visitors. Prior to periodic scottish Office inspections of the College there was a lot of overrnight shredding of documents dumped in black bags by the senior management team. A lot of good people had to leave the college due to being hounded out, maybe this is symptomatic of all institunions like universities, NHS trusts, I don’t know.
