Of course. Within days of the City decision, FFP will be abandoned. If we win, the media and rival clubs will be saying "FFP is not fit for purpose" and, if we lose, it will have done its job and no need to keep it any longer. It's already doomed.

Newcastle are the living embodiment of what City warned. Imagine the dismay on Tyneside if they're forced to sell one of their three most saleable assets to their direct rivals, just to avoid falling foul of FFP?

Keep it I say, it’s killing other clubs and the moves our owner has done to grow the club under ffp are giving us an advantage on what we can spend on the player recruitment side of things. If they got rid of it and Newcastle could spend what they wanted the rest of us are in trouble.

Good. Let it bloody go, let them judge a set of rules designed to hurt growth, and protect fossils in a clearly struggling league. Not for money but for ideology, and identity.

Not surprising that the country who came up with Brexit, has to put it lightly, such a backwards, and tribal attitude about different aspects of the game that are emerging.

FFP will be dead, it will become unsustainable, unbearable, and a heavy mark of shame, on everyone that stood by it.

Once the shackles will be released, then, we can talk about other things.
 
Question on FFP generally. Is it just the PL that is having a spate of breaches or is the same happening in the rest of Europe and at UEFA level as well?

Strange that in the PL, with so much money around, that clubs can't operate at break-even.

If clubs in Europe aren't feeling heat, I can imagine UEFA FFP staying even if the PL ditches it .....

It’s cos of City isn’t it….. City cooking the books, empty stands, fake sponsorships….

For some reason that has a negative effect on the rest of the prem….. makes no sense to me but I’m sure you accountants will understand it.

I don't think any other league in Europe has PSR it's just the premier league who voted for turkeys and GiLL is the kunt who rushed it through to stop us!

PSG can spend what they want in there league it's Uefa with ffp that punish them and they've falling foul of it 3/4 times now and it's a slap on the wrist!

Well, if you put it that way ..... err, no. :(

I can only think they were trying to adopt the approach of lose money and pay a fine without actually thinking it through (loss of income from Europe for example, points deductions instead of fines, etc ...).
Strange risks for responsible companies to take.

They would be correct.

Surely FFP was designed to prevent the later impact of initial investment by those who have plenty to invest properly.

Seems their worst fears have happened now that we have shown them what a proper business plan can achieve particularly with very low debt to service.
 
Was talking to someone I knew 40 odd years ago yesterday just bumped into each other in the high street !

He loved what City have done and he said FFP is anti competitive and they to protect certain clubs.

OK he is an Everton fan but a sound football bloke. I said it's a farce that you have been docked points. We both agreed that owners should be allowed to invest as much as their want into their clubs. It should be a free market place.

I get the feeling their is a growing feeling now that ffp is bent.

Wont help us but perhaps fans are now seeing what we have been saying since day one

Masters crumbles under some minor cross examination from a Parliamentary select committee - got into a right state. A decent KC would have him soiling his pants.

Have they failed more than once genuinely don’t think I have seen it reported which is odd given the press we get
