Appendix: and there was no organised resistance from either fan group at the time.

Burnham is spending loads of time on it. Imagine if he put as much effort into being mayor of Manchester.
You're right - there wasn't, but part of that can be attributed to the fact that fanbases would've been conditioned to believe that FFP was in the best interests of their clubs. Newcastle fans - to be fair - wanted Ashley out and him voting for FFP was a sideshow to that. It was a bit different for Everton fans. They'd done well under Moyes and were generally over-achieving in relation to the money they'd spent - who can forget the chants of "2 nil, and we've spent fuck-all" when they beat us at our place one season? - so they probably thought it was going to be a good thing for their club. But things can move on quickly in football. Just a few months after Kenwright voted for FFP, Moyes left to take the United job and then shamelessly tried to take some of their best players (Baines and Fellaini) for low fees. What large amount of credit Moyes had built up with Evertonians rapidly disappeared.

I think the points deduction(s) could be far less damaging than any financial repercussions. The club probably needed the new stadium to save us about 3-5 years ago at least. I remember reading somewhere that Everton spent nearly 80% of their revenue on players wages- madness if true

So have the rest of the clubs caught on to the corruption that is FFP or is it still City's ruining football, 115 charges, etc
Get with the narrative mate.
The PL is corrupt and inept when dealing with its member clubs in all circumstances, bar one.
That one is, obviously, when charging City. Then, they are incorruptible, bastions of fairness and guardians of our national sport.
It’s exactly the same as UEFA. Hopeless and corrupt, unless charging City….

What we’ll get now is more fans from everton, forest and the usual suspects displaying dizzying amounts of cognitive dissonance. “It’s not fair, it’s all a sham, the PL are corrupt.”
Followed, often in the same paragraph by; “and when will City get done?” “They should be deducted xxxxx points, relegated etc…”
Not only is the above true but, if Everton and or Forest were to go down, would they really not be bothered, provided City went as well? Of course they would.
By bringing city up, at every available opportunity, these saps are doing exactly what the cartel want. I’d imagine even the red shirts can't believe how easy it is..

Need an independent regulator now and suspend all points deductions on provision that the clubs are found in the right direction in the next two years they doing everything they can to put it right! After two years if it doesn't look like it then dock those team points!

Seems no club thought they were serious about points deductions and just expected a fine or transfer embargo at worse! You see it now with clubs knowing they serious about point deductions that they going to be more frugal and saying they need to sell first!! It's a mess..
It is madness to sanction a club for investing too much money without implementing controls over debt levels. These rules are just as stupid as they were when they were introduced. Clubs go bust when they can't service their debts and then they have to face the consequences of their own incompetence.

if this is the case and found guilty then Everton should not be deducted any more points but relegated.
I think this has already been sorted out behind the scenes because they have put back the move into the new stadium knowing they are going down one way or the other

So Everton are potentially getting another points deduction after failing FFP when they voted in favour of its implementation. Lovely.

'They' being a dead man (Kenwright).

Yes, we the fans deserve everything we are going through from his decision.

We should punish players and fans for every awful owner and decisions made in boardrooms.

In fairness he, BK, probably had a bit of peer pressure from other Chairmen and it seemed like the safest option to stay with the pack especially for someone maybe a bit out of his depth.
We all know the PL is about helping out their favourites and weakening their competition..
Hope Everton come through and enjoy the new ground which looks great.

When Everton voted for this they were a top 6 club so clearly did it to benefit themselves.

I very much doubt the Premier League has the power to unilaterally decide to relegate anyone.
It's a shame for the fans but unfortunately their club put them at the mercy of these restrictions, once they'd sided with the anti - City mafia.
'Ooh. Ooh. Let's stop big bad City'
Yep. Look where that's got them and the rest of blindsided minions.

I would think the points deduction is more severe this time…if found guilty.

Hopefully fans and clubs wake up and realise what the FFP rules are really all about…

I think they can if found guilty again, all they need to do is wait for the end of the season and then take enough points off them to place them bottom of the league,

Everton have played the joker card in the first case and tried to use the outbreak of COVID-19, Even after adding up all the allowances because of the covid 19 outbreak they still could not hide the losses, Now more findings may have come to light and this time its Big and we are talking over £250million,

If guilty then sorry the punishment must be hard
