PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Hard to tell if this was a hatchet job by The Telegraph (although it's pretty damning if you're getting outwitted by Ben fucking Rumsby) or if Ceferin went into the interview with his eyes wide open. The quotes in isolation aren't that bad (he's essentially just defending UEFA's case, says he accepts the CAS decision, and won't comment on the PL case) but still think it was completely inappropriate for someone in his position to comment at all in the circumstances. The constant deluge of negative press is tiresome, but ultimately nothing has changed regarding our case. Just got to brush it off, and savour the fact that our success hurts them so much.
Exactly. Soon be forgotten when we spank Spurs on Friday :)

This is what pissed me off at the end of last season. Every time we won something, the media couldn't discuss it without bringing up the 115 charges, as if that's proof that the titles weren't legitimate. Even if you genuinely believe that City are guilty of all 115 charges (which of course no-one can, because no-one has access to the evidence), they're for a time period over over 5 years ago. What relevance do they have to our achievements last year? That just goes to show that it's nothing to do with fairness and everything to do with feelings and jealousy at a better team, being run better, and giving the old guard, who all of the journalists support, a kick in the teeth every year.
About as much relevance as Arsenal's dodgy election to the top flight in 1919 has to their Charity Shield win in August 2023.

Meanwhile, kindly Uncle Joe Lewis, owner of serial bottlers Tottenham Hotspur, has admitted he was not satisfied with having £5 billion of wealth but had to resort to fraud, that's real legal fraud, not UEFA or EPL fraud

Add to that the insult to a Middle East Royal family. These types of allegations and reputational damage are treated VERY seriously in the Arab region. Culturally smears like this are received very differently in the Arab speaking world. Finding us guilty jeopardises trading relationships and investments too. It’s a nuclear option so The Premier League would have to have a watertight case with irrefutable evidence to satisfy the wider legal and political world. The Premier League and UEFA are playing with fire. This is why I don’t stress too much about it. I’d be amazed if they’re stupid enough to find us guilty.

The fuckers who are instigating all this are the American owners they don’t give a fuck about what is right all they care about is trying to keep their nose in the trough at any cost. They love the fact that the premier league and its rules are giving reason so they can turn around and say they can’t spend.

It’s more money to take back to the states for the owners of the Red Shites, Spurs and the rest of the rancid bastards

Maximum of 20 years in prison. But he's rich, so he'll no doubt get away with an inconsequential fine. If he worked for a bank and defrauded them of 10 grand, no doubt he'd be in prison for a decade.

Had this discussion the other day, showing my age here but when I think of the great football sides (on the pitch) of my youth its Liverpool with Crown Paint on the front of the shirt, them with Sharp over the kits, Everton and NEC (still I do not know what that was / is) Arsenal and JVC and of course Brother over our own (with a nod to Phillips and Saab) - its the same with City and Etihad today. 400 million including the stadium rights at the start for the exposure the Etihad brand got was a steal! The sponsor sticks with you if you see it enough times. School run today in North Lanarkshire and I'm allowing myself a little smile as I spot 1,2 then 3 branded City bags on the ground amongst the Old Firm stuff - same all over the world I'm sure.
That's a great point about the school kids, the future fans, all this bullshit has little effect on them, it's winning and great players that matters .

We simply have to ignore them. Stop giving them oxygen. It doesn't help our fans to engage with these people. Let them spout lies and let them slip deeper into their own echo chamber. It'll make it all the sweeter when judgement day does finally arrive. When you see through the screeching and the false claims that they don't care about City, you see a shallow and insecure body of people who have mentally been destroyed by City these last 12 years. One bloke on X was even honest enough to admit that he is mentally preparing for City to be exonerated because he wouldn't be able to cope otherwise. That is the true effect of real power and influence exercised by the custodians of City. The other half to the beauty behind our success is what it has done to our enemies. Don't give them the satisfaction a narcissist craves. City are Penelope Pitstop, our detractors are Dick Dastardly. City fans need to be Muttley.
Worth a mention actually, the last sentence is hilarious. One for the FOCs.

How the BBC are reporting it.

‘Linked’.

My fucking arse is he linked. He owns Spurs.

UK billionaire Joe Lewis, whose family trust owns Tottenham Hotspur football club, has pleaded guilty to insider trading in a US court.

Lewis, 86, was accused of passing on information about his companies to his private pilots, friends, personal assistants and romantic partners.

Let’s see what Masters and the PL do about this..No doubt they will brush is under the London clubs carpet. Nothing to see here.

Was any of that money used for THFC? To pay off the debt for the new stadium? Etc.

City can't speak out publically at the moment because it would undermine our legal position. I would hope we have spoken privately to Ceferin though. When this case is finally resolved hopefully the club will speak openly and in detail making our "irrefutable evidence" clear to the whole world. This is the least our fans deserve. We are the paying customers.

Our evidence is our audited accounts, possibly Wittness statements saying that is correct and we may provide a bit more context and documentation, but ultimately the irrefutable evidence is our accounts.

It is actually hard to have some proof to prove what you’re saying is correct, when the other party does not believe it. We cannot unveil some clear and concise bit of evidence to make it all go away and the PL say ok, this line run out by opposing fans is ridiculous. We have provided the information already.

However, CAS and the IC (hopefully) will have a different view to Simon Jordan and Big Paul the scouser down the pub as they are not interested in PL thinking there wrong, they will want evidence from them.

Remember the accounts have been verified and audited, why should we not believe they are correct (and let’s be real here, PL have not required anything further from 19 of the other 20 teams other then there accounts).

Here the PL need something, they have the emails which CAS had and the non cooperation but not deemed enough on a lower burden of proof. So PL need something and for me forget that something is the key.

If they have something that reaches the level of proof required, we’re in trouble.

If they have something different from UEFA and it falls below the level required, then we are ok.

If they have exactly the same as UEFA then not only are we ok, but entitled to be truly annoyed that we have had to answer the same questions again!!

I think it will be a mixture of the last 2, mainly UEFA case with a little bit more in there, but nothing ground breaking.
