Martin Samuel has called it out a few times. But he is a lone voice in the british press/media.

This Terry Flewers on his The Football Terrace stream on YouTube took an email that Nick Harris posted on Twitter relative to our bringing Brahim Diaz to City and spun it into City "trafficking" underage players into our academy. The email says nothing except that we need to be careful to ensure we basically dot our I's and cross our T's in terms of his parents establishing themselves as living in Manchester. How the fuck does this guy have the balls to use a term like trafficking? He goes on to call that demented fuck Nick Harris a very credible journalist several times and he concludes with a statement that this invalidates our entire academy set up and all the benefits we've derived in terms of players and profits from sales.

You can't make this up in terms of the public gaslighting going on day in and day out both in the press and on social media. It does make me wonder if all these assholes were so sure City were guilty of all the things they're being accused of doing why do all this piling on of obvious misrepresentations, exaggerations, and slurs? The lack of objectivity speaks volumes to the fact that they HATE us, simple as. Truth and justice hold no place in any of this for them whether we are guilty or not. It's a disgusting public shaming that's unwarranted and unethical even if we were actually guilty of some misdeeds. But if we are eventually cleared there has to be a reckoning. What that is I don't know, buy I know it can't be forgive and forget, not for me...

The sports journalists (if that's what they are still) in the UK are now at the lowest echelon of the business since it began. The past incidents in this country in sports have helped shape the narrative towards a bias that serves only a select few, allegiances within the sector stand alongside the algorithms that dictate what articles gain more traction

It's all controlled, just the same way the Trump campaign was won with Cambridge analytica - data and a target narrative that will win votes/sympathy on a certain subject

Fake, negative, positive news generates traction because it stirs the thoughts/feelings of those that read and believe it. The algorithms know this and identifies key areas to pump more of the same out there.

ceferin, someone who brought in the uefa rule that would only allow the ruling head of uefa a certain time in charge - so that uefa could not fall under the same spell that Blatter spun at fifa....and what's happening now, ceferin is trying to bypass the rule and stay on longer in power. So this self serving prick has had a hidden agenda all along, so is this guy trustworthy then?. He is seeking power within the game and what part have clubs representatives had in this change of stance, what are the alternative motives in this? There has already been a resignation of one member who has stated his anger at what ceferin is doing, and hints that there are more members not impressed with ceferins actions

There are plenty issues that should be investigated and looked into by so called journalists to uncover what is actually going on within the game. The question many ask is why they don't, are they controlled/manipulated by certain or multiple vetted interests that want the story driven or diverted away from themselves.


Maybe, in this day and age it is going to take individuals to do the investigating and get the news that needs reporting actually out into the open, but the conundrum is..does that pay the bills

Same feeling here. There's definitely a story to be told. Shows me how everyone are sheep much more than I ever thought.
Something else that surprises me is that we are obviously treated differently in their coverage of City, the posion they must speak to each other about our club before they go on air stinks across the whole broadcast. Why has no reporter, pundit, anyone, reported on, written about etc. Its blanket hatred, its a story in itself.
 
the media is an echo chamber for idiots, it is just continuously the same idiots spouting the same crap to the same idiots that need to hear it, there is no dissenting voices because the reality is that the vast majority of people do not care about the print media or talkshite it isnt how they consume their news.

Yes. Potentially a massive (!) story if only someone had the balls and the resources to investigate. Personally, I believe there has been collusion between the redshirts and the PL. First question: why did the newly installed PL CEO resign after just one month saying “Certain clubs have too much influence”? Just what was she referring to?

Weren't there posters on here claiming City's relationship with UEFA had improved hugely with Ceferin being in charge? Same with apparently friendlier relations with the Liverpool board. It's about time they learned that none of these snakes can be trusted...EVER.

No, because equity investment from owners would be allowed without FFP/PSR limits. The 25% percent of annual turnover amortised debt limit would stop a Leeds situation where they mortgaged the club to the hilt, based on getting to the CL knockout stages every season.

The first season Leeds didn't make the CL, they were forced into a fire sale of the squad, & sank further & further down the league until they were finally relegated, with huge debts they couldn't service. IIRC, weren't they also forced to sell their stadium too?

If Leeds' long-term amortised debt leveraged against the club was limited to 25% of their annual turnover, they would have had ample wriggle room to restructure, without putting the club's very existence at risk.

It's a two pronged approach to stop reckless owners leveraging debt on their clubs, but also giving sensible ambitious owners the ability to invest their own capital as they see fit, to enable them to secure PL status (Forest) or challenge for the league (Newcastle).

FFP/PSR stops this, merely because the Cartel Clubs think it's unfair on them being challenged by new owners with more money to invest.

FSG: Jürgen...Rick tells us City are going to be found not guilty and they are on the warpath. Might be a good idea to manage you're exit, along with your staff to protect the club. We'll get our best marketing men on it and make sure the fans canonise you before the shit hits the fan. Any future action by City is then mitigated as "We've learned from our mistakes." When do you want to do the interview on LTV? They are currently in reception.

Ah I thought you were saying limit any losses rather than limit debt. So you’re saying allow any losses as long as they’re covered by equity and any debt must be limited to a percentage of revenue?

Not averse to that. I would say not all debt is equal though, particularly as the asset growth in football has been so huge in the last couple of decades.
