PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

They are absolutely nuts, as are the inhabitants of RAWK. Both are convinced of our guilt, with no consideration of evidence necessary. Both are convinced our players stay because of under the counter payments. Both are convinced our attendance is fake, our sponsors are fake and our finances are fake. What they cannot deny is that our points are not fake, our trophies are not fake, our playing style and tactics are not fake, and our titles are not fake...RESULT.
They must be in shock when they arrive at the ground to see it full with a raucous atmosphere.

I’m still baffled to why united haven’t been charged.
2020 they lost £23m
2021 they lost £92m
2022 they lost £115m
£230m over 3 years
Premier league ffp only allow a total of £105m losses over a 3 year period.
What am I missing?
Apart from the obvious of course.
Liverpool failed FFP too. Where’s their investigation for not meeting UEFA requirements?

Why are Arsenal a "heritage club" and the likes of City arent? In what decade does a club become a heritage club?
Because we've no 'istree. That's why we are not a heritage club. The fact that the highest attendance for a match outside Wembley was set by City at 84,569 at Maine Road - in 1934!
While we're at it, especially in view of the alleged charges being levied at City currently, driven mainly by clubs who are owned by Americans and play in red- yes, the "heritage" clubs! How did they get to become successful? That's right, by massive investment from wealthy "sugar daddies" in years gone by. In Arsenal's case, it becomes more intriguing. How did they get into the first division in 1919, after finishing 5th in division 2? I wasn't around at that time (unlike @oakiecokie ;-), but Arsenal fans have the temerity to accuse City of cheating. Pot calling kettle?

Pep seems happy enough to do it. Pretty good at it too.
He wasn’t very happy when that **** Harris asked him if was taking back handers after the last fa cup final win

perhaps we’ll get a Khaldoun special at the end of the season and he comes out all guns blazing

Exactly. This is the sort of social circle our owner lives in.
Be afraid, PL, be very afraid.

Pfft - I've shaken Charlie's hand, as has half of the Western world. Don't think the PL are going to listen to me either.

It changed mate as soon as we took Madrid's trousers down, it was then that they all realised what they are dealing with. Coupled with the fact that we could well emulate the wankers over the road treble, then they cant keep on calling the cunts the treble winners-we will virtually be throwing that title of theirs in the bin.

Like our title treble got thrown in the bin?

We won the domestic treble, which seems to be irrelevant. With proclamations like 'we have the chance to win our first treble', we can 'become only the second side to win the treble', it is clear our previous one doesn't mean anything any more.

Oh and when Liverpool were chasing the cup treble last year, with us having already secured the league, it was still described as 'the treble', so I'm not buying that there is only one 'right' kind of treble.

I think thats the issue rival fans have. The Football played on the pitch seems to be downstream from who your owners are. People havent gotten bullish on Newcastle all of a sudden because they have a young Messi in their youth system.

That guy in the photo (not Charles), is the most influential football figure in English football for 30 years, even bigger than Ferguson. He has basically torn up the landscape of the English football landscape.

The counter argument is that the heritage clubs get overturned and it allows clubs like City and Newcastle who historically found it hard to get/stay at the upper end of the table. However in doing so you become the very thing you complain about, by becoming a modern super club with infinite wealth to maintain high standards.

I think a European salary cap needs should be introduced across all major leagues. The best players can earn their money from image rights rather than salary from clubs. Or move toward a Bundesliga model with majority fan ownership of clubs.

A couple of points:

I know you are trying to be reasonable but you have fallen for the media narrative that the club has "infinte wealth". We have a rich owner, yes, but he is limited as to what he can invest in squads the same as anyone else.

Also, I don't think City fans despise "super clubs", at least no more than other rival fans. It's the arrogance of these "super clubs" who want a closed shop that grates, in the case of CIty for obvious reasons.

Lastly, your salary cap idea won't float, I don't think, nor should it. There is a club level salary cap that will limit wages and amortisation to 70% of revenues soon. So I am not sure there would be much point testing European labour law for no reason whatsoever..

I will throw you a few bones, though. It's true that City have a higher potential for sponsorship revenues because of who our owners and our directors are. I sometimes have a tinge of guilt about that. But then I remember how Liverpool and United became so successful and I don't give a toss anymore. You want to compete? Get better executives, and probably better owners.

It is also true that our owners can invest as much as they want into CFG, buying new clubs to strengthen recruitment. I haven't seen much benefit to City as yet, but if I was one of the "heritage" clubs of yours, I would stop worrying about what happened ten years ago and start looking at that particular steam train that is hurtling to wards them very, very quickly.

Lastly, it is true that the infrastructure investment exemption has meant we could invest large amounts in the academy, for example, largely unhindered. You can expect the benefits of that little investment to become obvious in the next five years. But don't blame us. We didn't make the rules.

maybe there is a longer game being played, maybe the cartel want city to prove their innocence ,take the pl to court , make the pl not fit for purpose because they falsely accused one of "our members" paving the way for a super league, the super league has been in the making for a long time , and maybe the cartel are a little bit more savvy than they look ,it wouldn't surprise me
It would completely surprise me.
