PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Hypothetically, could City invite the SFO, HMRC & the police to look into this, with two intentions?

1. To prove we've not broken any UK Laws?

2. As a precursor to a possible defamation law suit?

I'd imagine if they found we'd not broken any UK Laws, this would pour a cold pail of putrid piss all over the PL's FFP/PSR breach allegations, making a public distinction between their private members club rules & UK Law.
Would you mind asking the same question in the main thread? I’m not sure it helps to have a discussion on this thread as well.

So in summary, liverpool and united are cunts?
That needs highlighted at the top of the summary charge sheet just so we are all on the same page from the get go and make sure it’s leave no doubt as to their cuntishness!

Great OP. On the emails, whilst it’s the same source as in the Pinto/Der Spiegel leaked emails, there were quite a few that were released post the CAS verdict.

Dear Mr Plod,
We haven't broken any laws, and you won't be able to find any evidence to show that we have, but we'd be really happy if you could waste police time by starting an investigation into us because...

Would it not look better on our part if hmrc had a look through our books and said everything was tickety boo? Surely it would show this whole shit show up for the witch hunt it clearly is

HMRC wouldn't comment in public on any investigation they had carried out (unless it lead to a prosecution)

Working on the basis that this ridiculous process instigated by our heroes, the Premier League, will not conclude until the end of the summer 2025, I have worked out that equates to 585 days. That means 585 days worth of clickbait opportunities for the press and a long wait for football fans. I still hope the independent commission during a pre tribunal review of the evidence decide that there is nothing to see and bring this circus to a halt, but that's probably wishful thinking. It's going to be a long agonising wait and we are not going to get any meaningful updates during the 585 days judging by the way the PL seem to operate on a radio silence basis. So, lots of guessing and wild speculation until then. Hurray! Thanks PL. Putting football fans before politics...not!

The fact the police may say it's a waste of their time because City have done nothing wrong, is kinda the point.

Now who're the public gonna listen to after they make a statement to that effect? Masters from the Premier League, or PC Plod?

It’s not our books that would really show anything, not if the PL is alleging the same thing as UEFA.

It would be looking at ADUGs and the sponsors, which isn’t something either HRMC or the PL/Uefa have the jurisdiction to do and why I’ve always thought their case around the payments at least is ultimately unprovable by them. At least not with anything thats in the public domain, no idea if they have other evidence that we aren’t privy to.
