The yank won that all day long.
Nothing surprises me though. Akin to when Campbell Hatton was absolutely destroyed by the Colombian kid about 4 years ago - yet won.

A disgustingly corrupt sport.
 
Thought the best Jonas could have done was the draw the fight but she actually won it ??????

I had Mayer winning, but it was very close indeed. A surprising, but not 'dodgy as hell' result, IMO.
 
Problem is the commentary was so one sided in terms of Jonas that people are not clued up on the little details of boxing in real time can be influenced to think something else is happening

Mayer was landing body shots all night, 90% ignored by the commentators. A lot of the shots they said Jonas was landing, Mayer was actually able to catch and counter and then still continue with her front foot pressure, which is why she pretty much dictated the range for most of the fight.

On any other soil or with fair judging, Mayer wins that.

A fight can be action packed and be competitive but it doesn't mean its could go either way on the cards when one is still doing the better work in the majority of the rounds. And its scored round by round.

Shane Mosley Jr would be a good fight for him. He's a name (originally because of his old man) been improving, on a decent run of form since beating Rosado. He's in the top 10 in all the governing bodies too, McKenna isn't in any of their top 15 yet. I think it's a very winnable fight for him and would get likely him ranked in the governing bodies.

Both the McKenna Brothers ain't getting the big fights as for me there in the who needs to fight them. If both lads were with a big promotion with regular TV dates they would be up there higher than they are. For all of the work Mick Hennessy has done he's got no TV deal and there getting bums on Boxer as Boxer don't need to get a good fighter for them. I think 1 if not both could win a world title as of young fighters in there weight division not many good up and coming fighters.

They're a while off fighting for world titles right now anyway. Aaron has only had a ten rounder once and was back on an 8 rounder last night

I think his bet is to stay at 160 though. I think Janibek is about the best in the division. The other Kazakh lad Nursultanov is pretty good too. Then you have Adames who is OK. Ammo Williams is one of the better upcoming fighter's in the division. I don't think there's any truly elite fighters p4p level of prospects at 160 though.

So he should stay there because if he outgrows the division, I think the talent at 168 is a different kettle of fish. David Morrell is brilliant and the future of that division. Then you've got Benavidez, Canelo, Osleys Iglesias, Pacheco etc. McKenna would get his arse handed to him in that division.

As for Stephen, he seems to go between 154 and 147. Both tough divisions. The likes of Boots Ennis and Vergil Ortiz campaign around there and both around his age. Then you've got other good fighters across those weights classes like Tim Tszyu, Madrimov, Santillan, as well as some good up and coming Cubans like Tellez and Zayas. Even fights like Lubin, Jesus Ramos, Fundora, Brian Mendoza etc are a very tough night for anyone at 154.


But they do need a promoter who can get them the fights to learn and build them up to world level. Not sure Hennessy really has the ability or resources today and as you say, Boxxer don't care. Aaron is 18 fights in and still on an 8 rounder last night.

The home fighter getting an iffy decision. Who'd have thought it? Can't remember the names of the fighters, but there was a bout a couple of years (?) ago. One of them was Scottish, and the other lad was English. The English lad absolutely bossed the contest (in Glasgow?), but the Scottish fighter got the nod. It was scandalous. And, of course, Roy Jones jnr at the Seoul Olympics.

Yep Jack Catterall robbed against Josh Taylor, Don King would’ve been proud.
 
The 8 rounder last night was simply because it is last minute fight he needed to fight and he done the business.
Stevie has loads of power I think 13 KOs if not more fighting between weights to just get fights yet he is showing his power is good in both divisions. I would say Stevie if he had a Warren or Fast Car Eddie Hearn by now he would be fighting a eliminator for a World title. It's a shame over here in Ireland there's no big promotion that has the money or backing by TV to put on the big shows now as the brothers would be much see TV and you could do a big card with the brothers headlining.

Also with what is happening in the US boxing will get harder with some of the big companies pulling out of the fights. It might just be left to the bare few promotions over there.

I be honest regarding Mick Hennessy his fighters he has a few shocked Sky didn't go to him along with Boxer and give X amount of dates to him too.
 
I'll believe Fury has pulled out because he has suffered a cut in training. Wouldn't surprise me if he's running scared especially after Ngannou embarrassed him. I used to like Fury but if he and Usyk eventually get in the ring i want Usyk to knock him out because Fury has been too disrespectful towards him.

Looks bad tbf to him but I always had a feeling this fight wouldn't be happening in Feb.
