Brighton game will hopefully be postponed once we’ve beaten Luton as it’s the quarter finals that weekend
They were beaten fair and square at our place but for VAR chalking off a perfectly good goal after Blunderland dropped the ballThat performance and result will undoubtedly give them a lot of belief for the rest of the season including when they come to our place but an Arsenal win was the best possible outcome for us.
I don't think we can underestimate how important it is that Liverpool have finally lost a game where they were beaten fair and square either Hopefully it'll give other teams confidence when they play them.
It's up to us to keep this run going and get at least draws in the two head to heads. If we keep Rodri, Bernardo and KDB fit I see no reason why we can't win the vast majority of our remaining games.
What a great month of football that will be!
Beating Luton isn't a foregone conclusionBrighton game will hopefully be postponed once we’ve beaten Luton as it’s the quarter finals that weekend
You might be right, but we all remember the 2 down to the deathwire title races vs liverpool where neither side blinked. So not surprisingly, we are more wary of the scousers. Also we play Arsenal at home, but have to go to Anfield where like you guys we have a goddamn catastrophic record. Finally I cant stand Liverpool - so if we dont win it, I would prefer Arsenal every day of the week and 10 times on championship sunday.I've said many times on here that Liverpool aren't all that, I reckon City are conditioned to view them as the bona-fide challengers but the Dippers run on momentum and Arsenal will finish above them as Arsenal have a better 1st XI.
City are a different beast though. They are stronger than both. But thinking this was the best result tonight? No. I reckon that would have been a draw. I reckon the game vs Arsenal at the Etihad will be much more significant a match than many of you currently think it will be.
Fate was already in our hands prior to today's game. Just more tangibly so now as we dont necessarily need to win at AnfieldWin the games in hand and we go top putting our fate in our hands.
I’d definitely take that given how average we’ve been at times this season.
Rodri is more than likely to get another ban all the bent refs will be targeting him. With Rodri and Stones fit, we should fear no one.
Arteta’s goal celebrations and winning antics are rubbing off on the players.
Spitty isn’t happy. But he loves a good Juergen run down the touchline, and a fist pump in-front of the KOP.
Have you noticed the talk of the Liverpool quadruple has suddenly gone quiet tonigt.
We’ve pissed away opportunities like this in the past. No excuses this time with a fully fit squad at lastI was never worried about Arsenal last season, although I agree they are a really good team. I think they have improved this season, think they would prefer to chase then lead. However, I still consider Liverpool to be this seasons main threat. If they had won their toughest away game left without Salah it would have been HulUG
It’s hard to guess, but if they get a top class striker in, Mikel stays and Klopp leaves. There is a good chance these will 100% be our main rivals and we might be hoping for a Liverpool win in this fixture this year.
A title race with Liverpool will be tough, I’m hoping that if we can continue our run up to the Anfield game that they will drop some more points, giving us a buffer.
Tomorrow and Sat are HUGE, psychologically it would put a lot pressure on them if we win both and are on top with the same games played.
Any drop of points in those 2 games (despite Brentford being tough) will feel like a let off.
C’mon City!!
hence the word hopefully, we’re the best team in the world we have to be optimistic now, bring on the double treble!!!Beating Luton isn't a foregone conclusion
You're a little ahead of yourself
Villa after Arsenal as well.
We've not lost on the last 2 visits to Anfield to be fair. You might be right, but we all remember the 2 down to the deathwire title races vs liverpool where neither side blinked. Have we missed him "like mad"? I'd obviously much rather have him than not, but we've lost one match in two months. Not sure I agree with this. We have missed Haaland like mad and he will be straight I. The team when he’s ready - I suspect tomorrow.
