I can't understand those disillusioned types who claims Liverpool or Arsenal are as good as, or better than us, and are at east equal contenders for the title.

Do they realize we have up until now, played without the best midfielder in the world, without the best striker in the world AND the best defender in the league (possibly the world)?

Good luck keeping up with us in this run-in.
Yep, can't help but think they'll have been hoping for a few points grace on us at the point of Kev coming back.

Still plenty of games to play, but not convinced Liverpool are good enough to win as many games as they'll likely need to, and Arsenal will do what they did last season, and eat themselves.

I’ve been surprised how well Liverpools defense has held up. At the beginning of the season I didn’t think they had the horses to contend when that defense.

Another positive to come from today is that despite a first half of the season in which we’ve looked quite leaky at the back we’re now within 2 goals of having the best defensive record in the league again

They fucked up by not putting themselves clearly ahead when we were out of form.

Allowing a team to be 5 points behind with two games in hand and knowing they know how to perfect the marathon that is a season and time their form to perfection, you're just inviting them to steamroll their way to another title.

Oh and that team has just got the best midfield and striker in the world back, as well as one of the best defenders in Stones...

Liverpool had a reality check today. No doubt VVD and Allison will get death threats from the dipper fans for their performances today just like Karius did for his performance in the Champions League final against Real Madrid. You always walk alone...when the shit hits the fan. Come on City!

The state of Sky keep reminding the red goon audience that Brentford did the double over City last season, desperate stuff, one of those defeats was after the title was won anyway.

C’mon mate victory against Brentford is far more important than saving yourself for two Cup finals and a potential treble, shame on you.

to be fair they do have a point. we need to be on point tomorrow. liverpool have stayed the distance before so we shouldn't be giving them a glimmer of hope.

It’s how the football media works. Always looking for a narrative to hype up the next significant game however tenuous it might be.
And Sky are invariably the biggest culprits.

Last game of the season. Title already won, resting the big hitters before Wembley and Istanbul. That game meant nothing, only to Brentford and their fans. I'd hazard a guess that our attitude will be slightly different tomorrow night.

Ratboy Neville talked today of this being a crucial result as we're now entering the home straight of the title race.

Must be a very long home straight given that we still have 40% of the fixtures still to play
